Pours a deep black with a caramel colored head that lingers for a long time. Smells strongly of roasted malts, also boozy. Taste is similar, very malty taste. Smooth mouthfeel. Great beer! orangesol (987) - Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 20, 2013
Served on-tap at the Brewery.
A - Pours clear amber orange with a nice one finger tall white head leaving spotty patches of lace down parts of the glass.
S - Smells of rich caramel malt, mild noble hops, light fruity esters, toffee and a bit of light spice. Well balanced nose with nothing really standing out.
T - Starts off with a quick noble hop bite quickly being enveloped by the strong caramel and toffee malt backbone. Some very light fruitiness and a bit of black pepper spice help round things out. Finish is bittersweet quickly fading away, leaving the palate dried long after the finish.
M - Medium body with moderate carbonation. Smooth, rich feel with a bit of residual sweetness. It is very easy to consume in large quantities.
O - Don’t see this style all that often so I am not really sure how to compare it to others I have had. It is a well balanced beer with a decent amount of bitterness for so few IBU’s. Yet another flavorful, easy drinking scratch beer. egajdzis (6588) - Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 18, 2013
A,ber color with a medium sized off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel, bready malts, toast, and nuts. Taste of sweeter caramel malts up front, light nuts, dry, toasty, light roast. GT (10000) - San Diego, California, USA - MAY 18, 2013
Tap at Troegs thanks to Alex. Clear amber color, weak foam. Nose is sweet cherry juice box. Taste is moderately sticky cherry, some brown sugar, maple. Higher carbonation. Longer maple finish. Damico (3147) - Royersford, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 18, 2013
Pours clearer amber with a decent white head, creamy. Aroma brings fruity clean amber malts. Flavor is same, nice clean lager malt flavors with a nice fruity yeast settling on the palate easily.

Not bad for the style but a bit too bland and boring. Very simple beer. Troegs can and does do better.
