Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of Doodler. Pours black with a creamy and lacing light brown head. Sweet roasty nose with a woody touch. Solid body, sweet roast, quite some vanilla with a warming and fairly massive alcohol in the finish. Very subtle - if any - bitterness. 180911

very opaque black with the lightest notes of reddish around the edges... light oaky aroma, somewhat creamy aroma, roasty... oaky vanilla roasty almost borders on burnt, a little organic, dirty perhaps, lightly lactic, nice complex beer, finishes sticky, id like a touch more carbonation... light metallic flavor... good though not outstanding... reggiedunlop (3725) - The dub c, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 1, 2011
Pours black with ruby hues...huge mocha head...light sediment throughout...looks thick...nice lacing. Aroma has notable cocoa, touch of smoke, dark fruit, oaky notes. Flavor is dominated by cocoa...roasty, still a bit smokey...bit of fig. Mouthfeel is silky, creamy, and thick. Finish softly lingers with roasty cocoa and dry oak. Bottle pours out very carbonated with a huge creamy dark caramel head on top of a big black thick body. The aroma is a little boozy with and nice notes of smoky malts. It tastes rich with definite notes of the chocolate, sweet malt, and vanilla coming through nicely. You get a little booziness on the back but not overpowering. kbutler1 (1381) - North Carolina, USA - AUG 27, 2011
UPDATED: OCT 23, 2011 Bottle. Pops with a lot of carbonation! Pours a dark brown color with a big fluffy tan head. Head leaves a sticky lace as it settles. Malt milk vanilla flavor in the nose. Lighter mouthfeel than expected. Sweet with some roast notes. The vanilla is nice and well incorporated. The body is too light for me as an impy stout but it’s passable. Overall, it’s pretty nice except the mouthfeel. sneagrams3 (2337) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - AUG 22, 2011
Tasted 6/30/11. Sampled with Keir, phaleslu and others. 750ml Cork and cage bottle. Pours pitch black with a moldy khaki head. Aromas of vanilla and anise, cane sugar and maple sugar. Decent alcohol flair in the nostrils. Very full bodied with a hot dose of alcohol and a vinuous character. Subtle vanilla creaminess and the cocoa rears its head towards the finish. Tasty stuff!
