Best thing put out by Troegs. One of my favorite beers. Delicious aroma and taste and well priced for its strength. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

pours cherry red with white fluffy head. the aroma is cherry, honey, caramel, sweet smell. and slight tartness. the flavor is cherry, honey, some cloves and spiciness with caramel at the end. the body is thick and malty and very filling, overall this is a nice beer for a cold night, and leaves you wanting to take another sip.

Chalumeaux (1760) - Middleton, Massachusetts, USA - MAR 11, 2017
12 oz. bottle pours dark red/ maroon color with some off white head retention. Aroma of plums, cherry skins, honey, and light traces of cinnamon. The flavor is a exact duplicate of the aroma and the alcohol is hidden well but provides a slight warming after the sip. A nice winter warmer.

Bottle into snifter. Pours a nice ruby with minimal head and lacing. Aroma of Belgian yeast, sugary sweetness, and booze. Tastes of medicinal cherry, root beer, cloves, and your typical Belgian yeast notes. The 11% is definitely warming me up. Overall this is good, but my mind isn’t blown

Pours a amber color with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet with dark fruits, caramel malts, banana, and some alcohol. Stone cherry tartness comes out on the flavor with the dark fruits and caramel malts. Tiny bit of warming on the finish as well.

Aroma wheat, honey, spices,
Appearance amber, red, clear, white foam, tan foam,
Taste medium sweetness,
Palate light body, medium body,
Overall a sweet holiday beer that is very deceptive when it comes to the alcohol. One of my favorite "Christmas" beers. I would suggest this beer to a friend.

Pours ruby red with a one finger off-white head with an aroma of honey and mild mahogany. Tastes sweet of cherries & malt and a mild honey finish with hidden alcohol.

Pours amber red. Malty, lots of cherry flavor, honey and spices. Slight alchocol burn. Top christmas beer out there.

Hot damn this is righ on. Totally nailed belgian dark strong. The nose of dark fruit, the appearance of dark clear orange, the palate with the totally hidden booze and thick mouthfeel and palate. A big winner, true to style (though mislabeled on ratebeer).

This pours a jewel-like garnet color out of the bottle with only the barest of off white heads. There is a lot of booziness to this beer, both in the nose and the flavor. The nose has some tart cherry notes along with the alcohol. Cherry and plum fruitiness with lots of brown sugar and some molasses sweetness. And the alcohol. This is a little hot for me.
