3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Flight shared with ebone1988 at the brewery. The pour is a brown orange color with almost no head. The aroma is sweet and malty as a dopplebock should be. There is a pretty hefty fruitiness in there that doesn’t belong. Light booze on the back end. Flavor is sweet malt water with a fruitiness on the back end. There is a strange bitter that’s hanging out on the back end that I don’t care for. The mouth feel is thin and watery. No carbonation helps this as it jumps off of the tongue and finishes with a lightly metallic malt. Damn book.

4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Pours with a beautiful dark amber red color. Aroma is sweet brown candied sugar with a strong hint of maple syrup and dark fruits and malts. The taste follows the nose. The first flavor comes straight from the maple syrup notes, but the malts and plum come in after, giving it a sweet flavor that is delicious. Hints of caramel on the finish. Full bodied creamy mouth feel. 8% alcohol is nowhere to be found. Outstanding beer

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Everything aside for a second...this beer is beautiful looking. Deep cordovan, rich looking beer. Smells nutty and caremel-y. There’s some toffee and sweet maltiness. Aroma isn’t in your face, but it’s definitely good. Taste is hazelnut, caramel, toffee and grainy. Like it says on the can, it’s definitely chewy as advertised. It feels like a big beer, but the alcohol is well hidden. Overall, it’s a great tasting doppelbock. Liquid bread is pretty accurate.
