3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours lighter than most doppelbocks, but it is very pretty. Very familair smell of toasted malts. The caramel covers up the 8.2% and makes this delicious.

UPDATED: DEC 29, 2006 I dont know. It was alright. Nothing special, I wouldn’t buy a case of it, or doubtfully a six pack of it again if there is anyt options. Maybe not my style of beer

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. To my surprise, I really enjoyed this one. Pour was a dark red, brown mix with two fingers of head. Malts and hops were very well balanced with taste of caramel and maybe some honey. Fruit was of cherries. I will need to pick up another to rerate, as I was enjoying this beer so much I didnt take good notes.

From a bottle. Pours a bright amber color. Malty and dark fruit aroma with some hops and alcohol coming through. Taste is initially sweet then give way to a bitter finish with alittle alcohol burn.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Tap at Kclinger’s publik house in Etters, PA. Pours an orangey amber color with minimal white head. Fruity, malty aroma. Malty, sweet (overly sweet in my opinion) flavor with a slight hop punch at the finish. The alcohol is palpable. Not very drinkable.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
The troegenator just dominated me. Completely overwhelming strength in my opinion, but this rating is rather biased because mine was slighlty warm. Anyways, besides the fact it was tough to take down, it had not lived up to the full-bodied description. This was more a rush of alcohol with little consistency or balance. Perhaps a bad one from the batch ... or maybe I just have problems.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Amber/brown clear body with a large beige sudsy head that has good duration and a fair lace. Malty caramel aroma with a light hint of hop and alcohol. Some good toasty notes are in there. Starts with a dominant caramel malty sweetness and mild fruitiness. Has a bit of hop balance but definitely sweeeet. Alcohol is masked well. Medium body, juicy mouthfeel finishes lighty bitter. Enjoyable brew, enjoyable price.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: JAN 27, 2011 THIS RED COPPER BEER WITH TONS OF HEAD AND SWEET CARAMEL AROMA IS DEFINITELY NOT FOR EVERY ONE, BUT I PERSONALY ENJOY IT. IT HAS A NICE BALANCE OF RICH SWEET TOASTED CARAMEL MALT FLAVORS LACED WELL WITH LICORICE ROOT AND A HINT OF CHERRIES. NOT NORMALY MY FAVORITE FLAVORS YET REALLY PUT TOGETHER NICELY THE STRONG FLAVORS ARE ROBUST YET NOT OVER POWERING, THE ONLY DOWN SIDE I SEE IS THAT THIS IS A SPRING SEASONAL BEER, I UNDERSTAND THAT THE ORIGIN OF BOCK BEERS WAS WHEN MONKS WERE FASTING DURING THE SPRING THEY WOULD DRINK BOCKS, HOWEVER I THINK THIS WOULD BE A GREAT COLD WINTER BEER.NEVER THE LESS STILL ANOTHER HIT BY TROEGS!
