Bottle courtesy bu11zeye. Clear reddish color with some bubbly notes. Clay aroma, caramel with heavy malts. Flavor is sharp grains, tart and harshness. Some sweet notes fill it out. Rciesla (5499) - Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA - DEC 10, 2010
Bottle. Pours a bruin body with an off white head, with okay lacing left behind the pour. Very malty body, malt syrup, sweet, bourbon esk, old oatmeal mush. Hop character is totally oxidized, leaving a leaf y and metallic finish. Past prime i suppose. DaSilky1 (2606) - San Diego, California, USA - DEC 9, 2010
Bottle. Pours a dark burgundy that can be deceivingly dark in the glass with it’s darkness inducing and thus contrasting tan, sudsy head. Smells fairly sweet and bourbony with cookie-like spices intertwined throughout. It seems to smell a lot thicker than something of 7.2% abv. Flavors are balanced with nutty notes, lots of caramel, and other malty characteristics, some vanilla maybe and some cookie spices. It is medium to full bodied but seemingly thicker when you think about the alcohol level and it still remains pretty luscious considering that and I actually think the combination of spices here, whatever they may be, is done quite well and surprisingly harmonious. Not too shabby. I could do with more prickly and pronounced carbonation though as the rather unlively mouth makes it taste a bit flabby and muddled after a while...but still not too shabby. meerbier (1474) - Pijnacker, NETHERLANDS - DEC 9, 2010

Quite dark with plenty of red. Absolutely no head and only a very thin ring on the glass. A thin and unique aroma. It is odd vegetable and peat. Flavor is also odd. Deep earthiness, some hoppy sourness, some kind of vegetable stuff. Some soy sauce and dark fruit. A bit of that peat emerges on the finish. This is just not one that I want to try again. Pours a barely transparent dark mahogany with a spotty-lacing off-white head. Has a sweet dark caramel and raisin nose with some plum notes. Starts with pretty good fullness and a light carbonation with a soft lightly sweet milk chocolate flavor and roasty bitterness. Finishes drier and bittersweet with some dark chocolate notes and coffee. An enjoyable and drinkable imperial stout.
