COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Black Bise is back, except that the animal was adapted to better IMPRINT in the range of the brewery. High fermentation black, with a mixture of special malts calibrated to give it body, roundness and needed a winter beer presence, without falling into the bland. It as 7.2%, so caution. This beer is brewed from September to March.

11.2 oz. bottle, pours a dark amber brown with a small beige head. Aroma is fruity, nutty and spicy, with some dried fruits (dates, figs), toasted bread and some undecipherable spice notes. Flavour is quite fruity, with the dates, figs and cherries, toasted bread, some spiced notes, and some nutty qualities. Certainly doesn’t taste like a stout or even a spiced ale - not sure what this is, but I suppose it’s alright for what it is.

Seems more like an imperial stout and labeled as such. Pours black with slight tan head. Nose is licorice, grape and roasted malts. Taste of licorice, roasted malts and chocolate.

330ml bottle (Bierkompass.de)
7 Lovely aroma - really brown toasty malts, sweetish, but not sugary, some cocoa, and a hint of bacon. Please may this be good, it starts so promising.
4+ Lovely dark red, so dark you’d initially think it’s black. Hard to coax a head out of it, but you do get a small beige one if you try.
7+ Malty retronasals, which carry through to the central taste, accompanied by just a tiny hint of bitter hops, noble, but a little leafy.
5 Lovely and smooth palate, gentle carbonation crispens it nicely. Heavently finish - no hint off any alcohol vapours, just rich roast malt
15 What a wonderful stout. So drinkable but so full. Humming with all the right notes in perfect harmony. No spices, herbs, or vegetables to be seen (and lookey here - it even says "imperial stout" on the label).

Bottle, at Baran. An almost black one, topped by a dense, dark beige head leaving curtains. Dried fruits, roasted malts, nuts and a touch of chocolate in the aroma. It’s full-bodied and semi-dry on the palate, with a nice carbonation level. Dried fruits and some chocolate in the flavor, roasted, and a bit sweet, with a medium length finish. A decent one, but a bit boring I think. 140906

Bottle, 7.2%. Roasted aroma, a little smoked, hint of ashtray. Very dark brown colour, seems clear. Big rocky light brown head. The flavour is sweetish and roasted, has a little barley bitterness, some ashtray. A bit rough around the edges, but not too bad.

Bottle. Poured dark brown color with an average frothy brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate dark malt and spice aroma. Medium body with a dry smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium spice and dry chocolate flavor with a medium soft sweet finish of moderate duration. Very soft brew.

11.2 oz bottle. It pours a dark brownish black with an off-white head. I always enjoy stouts that look this way with the black and white combo. I like the smell of this one, it does indeed have some spices which add to the goodness, but it is primarily a sweet and cocoa-y brew with a nice bit of caramel and roasted malts. There is also a hint of hops. The flavor is fruitier with a nice bit of roasted malt. To be honest the hops in this are a bit overt, but then again they work well. IT is reminiscent of their hoppy porter. I would say if you like something like nightstalker, this is a bit weaker, but very tasty and similair. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 03-15-2011 03:10:18
