Papsoe (25063) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAR 23, 2010
Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours a reddish brown with a slight haze and a small creamy off-white head. Roasted malty nose - almost hard roasted - with some present alcohol. Medium body, hard roasted malt and a little vanilla. I really dont pick up any spices - this is more of a Stout really. Malt bitter finish. Nice. 230310

Nickls (2507) - Alexandria, Virginia, USA - MAY 18, 2010
Bottle. Thinner slightly tan head on a very dark, reddish brown color that has some orange highlights around. Some light spiciness in the aroma, some light fruit, faint hint of citrus and some yeastiness. Tastes a bit sweeter than in the aroma, but lots of flavor does show up after quite a muted aroma. Nice wintery spice, touch of fig and toast. Nicely warming. Mediumish body with vibrant carbonation. Little syrupy, but in a nice way. Really comes through with the taste.

Geruch nach Schokolade, malzwrzig, Orange, Rstaromen. Antrunk sanft-malzig, alsbald rauchig-schinkig. Gleichzeitig fruchtig, Orange. Bittermalziger Abgang. Ungewhnlich, wirkt etwas unruhig - dennoch ber dem Durchschnitt.Test vom 19.6.2010, Gebinde: Glasflasche

330ml bottle pours a dark brown color with some red highlights and a thick light brown head that leaves some nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is roasted malts and chocolate with some fruit. Taste is chocolate malty sweetness with some fruit and roasted malt bitterness and very little hop presence. An interesting imperial stout with the presence of the fruits, but still quite delicious.

330ml brown bottle. Beer #2 from Craft Beer Advent Calendar. Dark brown, beige creamy head, a few light spots of lace in the glass. Nose has chocolate malt and light spicy yeast. Taste is malty, muted cocoa, light roasted notes, slight lemony tang, slight woody note. Dry finish, some bitter chocolate and mild spice. Medium body, medium carbonation. Alcohol is well hidden. Decent, reminds me of a porter.
