UPDATED: JAN 3, 2015 330ml bottle served in a pint glass. A: Pours a dark amber to brown color. Slightly cloudy. Forms a big and creamy beige head with great retention and lots of lingering and molasses lacings formed and left in the glass. A thin layer lasts forever on the top. S: Nice smell of roasted malts and citrus, and flowery hops. Biscuity. Some notes of dark chocolate and yeasts. T: Slightly sweet upfront. Strong notes of caramel and roasted malts and grassy hops. Strong notes of flowery and citrus hops. Grapefruit and grapes. Again, some notes of chocolate and bready yeasts. In overall, taste is dry and bitterness strong and very persistent.M: Medium body. Medium carbonation. Roasted malts and persistent grassy bitterness in the aftertaste. O: Great drinkability. Trois Dames quality. Recommended. 330ml bottle at Bistro L’Autre Oeil. Dark brown with a foamy tan head. Flavors are bread, chocolate, caramel, roasted malts, grass and pine resin with fruity and nutty notes. Ein fruchtiger Duft steigt in die Nase, Der erste Schluck fängt eigentlich sanft an, bis sich sofort eine fruchtige bitterheit einstellt. Die Flüssigkeit fliesst prickelnd die Kehle hinunter, die eine bittere Spur nach sich zieht. Darum ist der Abgang recht bitter und der Nachhall klingt weiter mittelbitter nach! Aroma is roasty malts, caramel and some chocolate. Taste and some rich sweet malts with chocolate, nuts, and mocha. Appearance is a dark body woh a beige /pearl creamy head that retains fairly well.

Bottle sampled at Festival der Bierkulturen, Koln. Pours hazy brown with a thick off white head. Aroma ofbran flakes, malt, caramel and bread. Flavour is moderate sweet and over moderate bitter. Köln 2014. Pours a solid bodacious brown with dark cherry inflections. Mild impressionistic nose, dry woody malts and maybe some berries. Taste delivers: a confident piney hop bitterness accompanied with Alt-quality malt wood, roast and caramel. Lingering earthy, leafy bitterness, carried and offset by a round body. True to the substyle in asfar as expressivity here are converted into "brown" shades of caramel, earth and wood and another beautiful Trois Dame exercise in cross-pollenating styles to achieve heightened subtlety.
330ml brown bottle. Medium brown pour, pretty clear. Very full and creamy off white cap that is long lasting. Glass coating lacing. Nose has caramel and nut and some light chocolate, light hops. Taste has earthy malts, dark chocolate and some roasted notes. Coffee beans and roast malt at the end with some bitterness. Dry.
