COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Née de la rencontre fortuite d’une stout forte et d’une fermentation d’abricots du Valais qui jamais n’atteignit l’alambic du distillateur auquel elle était destinée, notre Oud Bruin (flamand pour "vieille brune") est une interprétation assez peu orthodoxe de ses cousines belges.
Elle en garde cependant le délicat équilibre aigre-doux, entre une solide ossature maltée assise sur des malts, aux notes caramélisées, chocolatées, rôties et fruitées, dans laquelle vient se fondre le vin d’abricot avec son acidité lactique, ses notes de cuir et d’étable liées aux levures sauvages, et une discrète note d’abricot.
La finale est légèrement amère et le tout se déroule tout en harmonie sur le palais.
Une bière unique, d’une grande buvabilité mais joliment complexe, entre douceur, fruité et acidité. Elle se mariera avec l’agneau, le canard, les moules, les crustacés ou des fromages à pâte molle ou mi-dure.
Série limitée de 1.200 bouteilles de 75cl, 7.2% d’alcool/volume, 35 unités internationales d’amertume (IBU).

Capped 750 from South Bay Drugs. Pours really dark reddish brown with a foamy, clingy beige head. The aroma is strongly sour and oaky. Med body; frothy carb. Flavor is sour reddish fruit. Way cool! Raspberry? Naah. Cherry? Could be kriek. Sour? Oh yeah!!!!! Really nice drink!

On tap at Jester King Funk and Sour Fest. Pours a cloudy brown with small beige head. Aroma of funk and raisin.  Medium mouthfeel with a sweet malt and sour fruit and nice tart finish. Easy to drink, a very good sour ale.

Keg at BD Malmo. It pours black with a small off-white head. The aroma is sweet, tangy, red grape, plum, date, lactic, wood, vinous and blackcurrant. The taste is crisp, dry, tart, vinous, earthy, syrupy blackcurrant, lemon sherbet, green apple, tangy, lemon sherbet, berry skin and vinous with a dry, tangy finish. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Tangy, fruity and sour. Nice.

Baran 060914. Dark brown colour with a beige head. Aroma is sourness, wood, caramel, berries. Flavour is sourness, malt, wood, caramel, berries, vinegar. Nice beer.

750 ml bottle poured a clear reddish amber with a small lasting cremy brown head. Aromas of sour apple, carmel, citrus and light basalmic vinegar. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry tart finish. Flavors of sour citrus, barnyard, basalmic vinegar and light carmel with a crisp dry tart lingering funky finish.

75cl bottle. Large beige head that mostly dissipates atop murky dark brown body. Aroma is medium sweet, sour Brett/cherry, light caramel, dusky. Taste is medium sweet, cherry, fairly sour, lacto, some duskiness, vinegar. Medium body, some acidity.

A reddish brown sour ale with a thin compact brown head. In aroma, superb sour cherries wit molasses, corky notes. In mouth, a superb dark fruits with sour cherries, lactic notes, a bit of astringency, but nice. Bieropholie import, about 2 years old. Shared with Mike and friends, April 1, 2012.

Bottle. Pours clear dark brown with ruby highlights, a medium, frothy light tan head, short retention with light to spare lacing. Aroma is sour and acidic grapes and plums with biscuit and cookie malt and spicy hops. Flavor is sour fruits, sweet malt, no hops or bitterness with a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

Bottle from my Euro Santa, much appreciated, because this is a very good beer. Murky dark brown color. Aprocot, confit cherry and toffee in the aroma. Caramelly, moderately sour citric flavor with apricots. Nice oud bruin, fairly complex, some rest sweetness.
