Bottle @ Cole’s Italian Beer Tasting. Rich amber body, no head. nose is honey, malts, some alcohol, dried fruits, a little clay, smoke. Flavor is rich malt, honey, a bit of fruity bitterness. Slight astringency I that reminds me of peanut skins. LordCorkscrew (1774) - Ronco Scrivia (GE), ITALY - SEP 19, 2009
BCTC. Pours a deep brown with a small white head. Aroma is malt and chestnuts, almost like chestnut puree. Flavor follows the aromas mostly. Smooth and tasty. Very neat.

A clear brown ale with a thin off white head. A sweet caramel malt aroma, nutty with fruity esters. In mouth, a good nutty ale with treacle notes, woody, veering on dubbel. A pleasant and rich brown ale. Bottle at Mondiale 2009. MrGGen (334) - ITALY - JUN 21, 2009

Dark amber color; small creamy head that reduces quickly. Light aroma, alcohol, chestnut honey (that disappears quickly), unimpressive. Medium body strength, with some caramel flavor, but with a dry impression towards the end; the fermented honey leaves too little body and too much alcohol. Nothing special.
Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of fiulijn. Pours a clear dark amber golden with an off-white head. Intense aroma of overripe fruit and alcohol - some acetone also. Medium body, overripe fruit, yeast and acetone. Dry finish. Appears very Belgian in style. Decent alright. 260309 yespr (44811) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - MAR 27, 2009

Amber-ruby. Fast head. Aroma: Yeast, spice. Flavor: Fruits, yeast, spice, chemicals. Alcahol finish. Over-rated! nick76 (4399) - Tampa, Florida, USA - FEB 4, 2009
The aroma is not what was expected. I do get some nuttiness but it’s mostly yeasty and somewhat herbal with some light fruit. The appearance is chestnut brown with a small but nice head. The palate is smooth but thin. Overall it’s not good.
