3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Quite orange in color, just hints of brown, with a thin, almost nonexistent, off-white head. Interesting, complex, herbal tea aroma, somewhat spicy (pepper) with fermented honey. A decent body is the foundation for the tea-like melange of flavors and the light, sweet malt. There is a somewhat offensive flavor in the finish that tastes like chlorine that does dissipate after the beer gets closer to room temperature.
Caramel, spices, malty, amber with a good head, medium body, carbonation is quite soft, caramel and spices again, fruity notes...very good.
The_Osprey (8732) - Richmond, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 19, 2015
Cask, gravity dispense, at Pig’s Ear 2015. As ’Troll Shangrila’. Amber orange, still, small bubbly tan head. Aroma is cola ice lolly, rum and coke, varnish, brandy, alcohol, blue icepops from my childhood. Body is medium, oily, smooth. Taste is rum and coke, stewed fruits, alcohol with a slightly bitter finish. Looks like Paul and I both picked up the rum n coke vibe. Can’t say I picked up any individual spices in particular, but maybe they made me think of spiced rum. Scopey (15500) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 13, 2015
Cask gravity at Pig’s Ear 2015. It pours clear deep red with pretty much no head. The nose is soft, sweet, juicy, faruit cake, varnish, cola ice lolly, spice and tangy dried fruits. The taste is slick, rich, bitter-sweet, spicy, dark fruits, fruit cake, cola ice lolly, and some alcohol warmth with a slick finish. Very reminiscent of Rum & Coke in my opinion! Medium body, low carbonation and oily mouth-feel. Weird, but overall not bad. Leighton (22056) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 10, 2015
Cask at Pigs Ear 2015, day 1 - London. Pours clear golden-red with a light, foamy head. The nose has faint plastic, berries, bread. Medium sweet flavor, very spicy, with sugary wheat and light butter. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes with sugary wheat and berries. So so.

Tasted during Nepenthia. Amber brown color. Thin white head. No lace sticks. Hazy body, with bits of particles inside. Caramel, some fig, pear. Nuts. Some spice, something like cinnamon. Medium-plus body. Smooth, lighter carbonation. Light slick. Moderate sweet taste, light to moderate bitter. Pretty pleasant overall. Danissima (2) - - JAN 5, 2015 does not count
