Oakes (18557) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 12, 2001
UPDATED: MAY 1, 2005 It is a good example of the European Strong Lager style with a soft, gently malt character, hint of acidity in the finish, and pear notes. Dangerously drinkable stuff.

Bottle. Vintage 2005. Frothy white fair mostly deminishing head. Dark yellow colour. Light malty and hoppy aroma. Moderate sweet and light bitter flavor. Average finish. Oily palate. Very oxidised.

bu11zeye (13140) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - MAY 1, 2005
(Bottle) Pours a lightly cloudy yellow body with a spare white head. Aroma of grain, mild cigar, herbs, and lemon. Flavor of grain, fruit, and dustiness. Soft carbonation with a chalky finish. Not what I would characterize as a dopplebock.

DocLock (10973) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 5, 2004
Pours slightly turbid dark straw/orangish with almost no head and floaties. Aroma of big malt, dark fruit, candi sugar, molasses, honey, apricot. Tastes malty, with a great sweet fruitiness coupled with honey and subdued hops. It did taste slightly flat, but that didn’t deter its taste. Finished slightly dry, with more fruit and honey. Very nice.

Vehement pear juice spread over rich caramel malt…Some acidity in the background…Surprisingly good for brewery…

rodenbach99 (4572) - Longueuil, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 17, 2010
Bouteille, encore un produit du même acabit de ce brasseur, malté, peu de houblon, forte, pas mon style.

Nate (4279) - Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 25, 2004
Caramel fruity notes. Pear, apple, malty. Medium amber hazy with no head. Starts with light alcohol, watery malts, neutral fruits. Light carbonic burn, but otherwise smooth. Good light nutty finish, malty sweet. OK doppelbock.

Enjoyit (3809) - Vadum, DENMARK - OCT 15, 2009
BBE 1995. Amber of color with a small white head. An aroma of port, sweets and honey. A flavor of honey and sweets.
