3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Tap at TBC. Brownish pour with a thick khaki head. Aroma is mostly sweet; candy, caramelized sugar; a hint of banana esters and light peanut butter. Taste is a mellow sweetness; can definitely taste the Belgian yeast; nutty with a hint of banana; a little boozy. Feel is pretty light; carbonation is nice; no lingering aftertaste. Light in the ester department which I like but this needs WAY more peanut butter to be called "The King"
Off the tap from TPR Raleigh. Pours hazy but smooth peach Amber with no head - smooth as glass. Aroma is malt, yeast and a hint of fruit. Taste is mild bubblegum and banana. Some backing malts. Very drinkable dubbel but not overly memorable. AirForceHops (8026) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - FEB 7, 2016
Draft Extreme Beer Fest 2016. Cloudy amber in color with full lasting head. Aroma is Fruity Belgian yeast with a nuance of banana. jtclockwork (17604) - , New Jersey, USA - APR 21, 2015
Flavor does show a light traces of peanut butter with the yeast being the focal point of the brew. The banana comes out in the yeast. Medium in body with a lower carbonation level. Unfermented sugar in the finish. The brew did hit the mark for what they were after but… damn it ends really sweet.
Draft. EBF. Pours gold white head. Nose/taste of banana, peanut butter, bready malt - medium body. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - MAR 19, 2015
Draft. Small white head atop murky amber body. Aroma is moderately sweet, caramel, banana, some salt, light nut. Taste is moderately sweet, banana, some salt, bubblegum, light caramel. Medium body, light stickiness. reggiedunlop (3726) - The dub c, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 13, 2014
pours a hazy orange/tan with a medium white head. the aroma has light peanut butter and bread notes along with mild banana and faint clove...nailed it with the aroma. flavor has a slight peanut butter note to it but is more clovey than banana-like...still tasty. mouthfeel is medium and lively with a dry, earthy finish that is nice but overtakes the banana/PB a bit too much but is still in line with the style. all in all, pretty tasty!

On tap at EBF 3/16/13.
Aromas of peanut and light chocolate with a hint of yeast. The flavor is a classic dubbel with a hint of peanut butter. I couldn’t find any banana here, but this was late into my session and maybe my scenes had been dulled. I enjoyed this but would love to try it again on its own.
