0.3 bottle. Dark brown, beige head. Nose is fruity and malty. A hint of light roasted coffee. Medium body, light carbonation. Taste is sweet, with toasted malts, licorice, coffee. Strange, for an imperial stout, but enjoyable.

God belgisk imperial stout med masser af fylde. God smag med tilpas bitterhed.

Light beige rocky head stayed well on a very dark brown still body. Full on aroma of malt, coffee, demerara sugar, roasted & dark berries. Medium bodied, crisp, average carbonation & dry on the aft. Roasted malt, bitter coffee, licorice, and citrus with hints of sweet coffee, grape & aniseed on the back.

PREZENTACJA: ciemno brązowe, zbyt obfita mydlana piana opada do wysepki; drugie nalanie to już zbita chmura, która ładnie oblepia szkło;
AROMAT: likier wiśniowy, czekolada, wino, melasa, spirytus;
ODCZUCIE: ciało średnie, oleiste, nisko nasycone, lekko ściągające, konkretnie rozgrzewa przełyk;
SMAK: czekolada deserowa z melasą i bardziej gorzkawym posmakiem kakao niż goryczką;
OGÓLNIE: fajne piwko, któremu bardziej pasowałoby z mojej perspektywy określenie imperialny porter bałtycki niż IS.

Excalibur123 (488) - Soria, SPAIN - JAN 28, 2017

330 ml bottle from Hawthorne Cellars. Pours black with medium tan head. Mild aroma of toasted malt. Flavours of toasted malt and small amounts of chocolate and coffee. Definitely drinkable, but certainly not in the top tier of imperial stouts. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Kriddie (11) - NETHERLANDS - DEC 30, 2016
Poured a very dark brown bordering on black, with a creamy coloured head that dissipated quickly, although a creamy/tan film remained until I downed the whole glass. Aroma of caramel, roasted coffee beans, roasted malts, faint hints of cinnamom and ash, and a distant metallic. Taste is the same; caramel, roasted malts, ash, with a slight sweetness and bitter. Aftertaste of coffee, ash and caramel which remains for a very long time and is quite strong. Overall a little conservative for an Imperial Stout, although I say this without any negative connotation. There certaintly are I.S’es on the market with a more extreme flavour, but this is a very solid brew which finds a perfect balance of all flavours. A certain deepness which gives all elements its moment to shine, without any "in your face" flavours that dominate the brew. This quality without any over-the-top extremes is exactly why the Troubadour brewery has found its spot in the higher echelons of my top-lists.

Bottle. Pours dark with plenty of lacing. Smells of coffee and cocoa, with hints of alcohol. Tastes like it smells, with deep coffee notes, alcohol present. I love this beer. Very nicely done.
