Kriddie (13) - NETHERLANDS - DEC 30, 2016
Poured a very dark brown bordering on black, with a creamy coloured head that dissipated quickly, although a creamy/tan film remained until I downed the whole glass. Aroma of caramel, roasted coffee beans, roasted malts, faint hints of cinnamom and ash, and a distant metallic. Taste is the same; caramel, roasted malts, ash, with a slight sweetness and bitter. Aftertaste of coffee, ash and caramel which remains for a very long time and is quite strong. Overall a little conservative for an Imperial Stout, although I say this without any negative connotation. There certaintly are I.S’es on the market with a more extreme flavour, but this is a very solid brew which finds a perfect balance of all flavours. A certain deepness which gives all elements its moment to shine, without any "in your face" flavours that dominate the brew. This quality without any over-the-top extremes is exactly why the Troubadour brewery has found its spot in the higher echelons of my top-lists.

Bottle. Pours dark with plenty of lacing. Smells of coffee and cocoa, with hints of alcohol. Tastes like it smells, with deep coffee notes, alcohol present. I love this beer. Very nicely done.

Trevlig.

Pedro_Pinho (242) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - DEC 7, 2016
Bottle @ pressklubben STHLM. Black with a nice light brown creamy head. Aroma is roasted malt and alcohol. Soft carbonation and velvet soft palate. Rather ruff roasted taste that dominates a bit too much. Some metallic taste as well. Not really top of the line.
