I just don’t like this as much as the regular. This one seems boozier, don’t know why, maybe this hop bill just doesn’t mask it the same way as the simcoe. Sammer (1119) - Plano, Texas, USA - MAR 5, 2012
A little bit of everything, booze, hay, hops and malt. Somehow, it all comes together very nicely. Cheers! cucuma (89) - kontich, BELGIUM - FEB 27, 2012
Leuk initiatief, 0,75l fles. Zeer hoppig in de neus, ook wat sinaas. kleur is verder licht koper, pale ale. Schuimkraag is zeer wild (rustig inschenken is de boodschap). Smaak is bitter, fruitig/citrus. Nasmaak heeft wat gisttoetsen. Zoals ik al vaak gelezen en gehooord heb vind ik de gewone magma toch wel beter! Benieuwd naar volgende editie argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - FEB 22, 2012

3oz pour has a nice, fruity nose, peaches, candy sugar, a little citrus, cotton candy. Flavor is sweet, tropical fruit, pineapple, candy sugar, plums, rum, cane sugar. Full bodied, boozy finish. Trev (2023) - Lakeville, Minnesota, USA - FEB 19, 2012
Medium gold orange pour with a huge white head.

flavour was yeasty, grassy, some spice and trippel sweetness balanced nicely with the citrus hop flavour. ryanfolty (2606) - Bourbon County, Minnesota, USA - FEB 19, 2012

Bottle. Bright orange pour with some haziness - monster foamy white head. Nose and taste of citrus, some yeast, some spice, lemon - really nice. Some hop elements to cut the sweetness too. Good stuff. Thanks Trev! bhensonb (15768) - Woodland, California, USA - FEB 18, 2012
Capped 750 from Wine & Cheese in Clayton, MO. pours hazy orange gold with a 3 finger creamy near-white head. Wow. The aroma is richly fruity in both citrus and non-citrus ways. Bubble gum game to mind, but no. Med body. Flavor is very rich, bitter and fruity, and a lot of it is citrus rind. Maybe pink grapefruit rind? It finishes both sweet and bitter, but a lot more bitter. Really excellent ale. De Proef did one heck of a job here.
