I seem to have missed out on the first special editions of Troubadour Magma so very happy now to taste this, thanks Stefan for sacrificing this bottle.. Very thick and frothy, creamy, egg-white head, cloudy orange blonde robe. Very attractive aroma - though undoubtedly the hop fragrance must have faded after some years of cellaring - with impressions of orange peel, papaja, wet hay, curry spices, cava, toasted bread, wet leather, chicken broth. Fruity onset, hints of papaja, mango and orange, soft carbo, full-bodied caramelly malt sweetness as in the regular version, yeasty spiciness on top, ending in an earthy, leafy, gently bittering, dried citrus peel-like hop bitterness overlying the ongoing malt sweetness. Too bad I never tasted this young, but even in this vintage form, this is a fantastic beer. The Troubadour range began very modestly but has achieved great things in the meantime, and I feel they are still a bit underestimated. DwarfeD (3540) - Amersfoort, NETHERLANDS - APR 12, 2015
75cl bottle shared at home. Somewhat hazy orange / golden with a medium white soapy head. Full body with low to moderate carbonation. Well balanced bitter- and sweetness. Clear amber with a 1-finger, fine khaki head and excellent lacing.
Aroma of caramel, coriander, lemon zest and grass.
Taste of caramel, peach, yeast, lemon and a touch of spiciness. Malty, for a double IPA, but quite good with interesting fruity hops and spice flavors.
Full/medium body and low/medium carbonization with a silky mouthfeel.

Aroma of sweet malts, caramel, spicy yeast, ripe fruits, hint of hops. Flavour is medium sweet with a light to moderate bitter finish. Bottle. Clear amber color, medium white head. Aroma of caramel, subtle grass. Taste is sweet caramel, light straw. More like a tripel than a DIPA.

Nice amber/orange pour with a medium off white head that maintains and leaves thick lacing. Aromas of toffee, grass, sweet malt, slight spice (coriander?), bread. Very refreshing and balanced flavor, herbal and honey accents, not too bitter at all, just right. The caramel, toffee, and brown sugar are well offset by the bitter and earthy hops. Palate is smooth and silky, full body, creamy texture, medium carbonation, long bittersweet finish. Poured from a bomber into a tulip glass cloudy reddish orange with a huge beige head.
Aroma is fruity funk.
Flavor is tangy hops & some barnyard. Caramel slight alcohol.

Deep copper/orange color, with thick off-white head.
Aroma of malts, some caramel, light alcohol, peach.
Taste malt, caramel, alcohol touch, bit of yeast, peaches.
Good fruits bitterness.
