COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Troubadour Magma is an amber colored beer with the bitterness of an American IPA but balanced with the fruitiness of a Belgian Triple. Enjoy the explosion of fruity aromas from the dry-hopping. -- A Triple IPA wich Czech bittering hops and Simcoe for Dry-hopping. Made by De Proef for Drie Musketeers, Ursel.

33cl bottle: slightly out of date when poured into a Duvel glass at home on 30 May 2013 during a random beer tasting evening. Poured slowly, so no sediment left the bottle: the beer looked good, orange too deep amber in colour, clear and clean, on top a full white crown. Smells sweeter than it tastes: mildly caramel and fruity in the nose. Hop bitterness with spice notes appear in the mouth and the beer is quiet balanced once you get into it. The alcohol is evident as is the Belgian yeast, all in all a very pleasant beer from start to finish.

Pours a dark amber with orangy tones, a beautiful colour. Thick and sturdy head. Aroma is of citrus, bit of resin and earthiness, touch of malt and belgian yeast. Very enjoyable bitterness and a bit of honeylike sweetness in the background. Usually I don’t prefer malty IPAs but this one is superb. Most of the hops seem to be of european origin, no distinguishable modern fruits. Nice, full palate, slightly thick. Aftertaste is a tad sweet, but leaves a nice bitterness to mix it up. Overall, a sublime IPA that stands on its own. Too bad I only had one bottle..

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Hogerdijk, Culemborg. Hazy amber with a white head. Peachy hop aroma with some sweet orange. Taste is medium bitter with some alcohol warmth. Long bitter ending in sweet aftertaste. Nice one

This beer has a nice hoppy smell, must be amerrilo. Taste is not as nice as the smell would sugest. A bit flat in my opinion, just very hoppy, good but not as good as the smell. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Asahiya. Rich butterscotch with citrusy hops and some alc. fumes. Hazy golden amber color, thin off-white head. Strong, concentrated malty initial, with honey and thick fruitiness / flavors get thicker and stronger in mid / warming alc. punches through in the finish, and then we’re left with flat malty trails of minimal sweetness. Medium body. Nice barleywine-ish aromas, but the flavors are a little disappointing. Seems overdone. The malt bill might be too weak for the hopping. Still, tasty enough.

Amber coloured with the smell of hops. Slightly sweet and pleasant hop flavor and bitterness.

hawthorne00 (4066) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - MAY 14, 2013
Bottle. Clear amber with a large off-white head that leaves clumps. Lots of oranges in the aroma, also caramel and peach, honeyed dough, herbs. Sweet and very yeasty with peaches and apricots, some caramel as well as loads of dough. Citrus and herbal notes come through, but the bitterness rumbles where I’d like it to cut through. No drying snap at all to the finish. A little boozy, but agreeably so. Nearly a year within date, but maybe has lost some vibrance.

Bottle. Pours a hazy orange beer with a small white head on top. Aroma is very citric and hop forward. Flavor is quite bitter with a juicy hop juicy mouthfeel. No alcohol detected in either aroma or flavor. Quite nice and easy drinkable. Nice.
