Brewed at De Proefbrouwerij for Musketiers.

Troubadour Obscura is a Belgian Dark Strong Ale with 8,5 % alc. and refermentation in the bottle. Poured in the special glass, Troubadour Obscura has a nice creamy foam head. The beer has a malty character with a nice little roasty flavour. Troubadour Obscura has a mild bitterness, which is a bit stronger in the aftertaste. Troubadour Obscura has a mainly malty aroma. The smell of roasted, burned wood is completed by a light chocolate touch. Troubadour Obscura is produced with 4 different types of malt, hops, yeast and water.

Tasted at Fynske ldag 2005, Deep reddish colour with a small tan head. Light roasted malty aroma with a fruity sweetness. Dried fruit sweet flavor with alight spicyness and an alcohol finish.

UPDATED: MAR 4, 2017 Birra dal marrone scurissimo. Schiuma color caffellatte, fine e di buona persistenza. All?olfatto sentori di cacao e malto tostato. Al palato corpo medio con note di malto tostato, cioccolato e caff. Nel finale lievemente amara. Questa birra abbastanza alcolica ma non si sente per niente, infatti va gi con molta facilit. Unottima birra.

Trs belle brune lgrement voile avec de superbes reflets rubis surmonte par une belle mousse dense ocre... Trs apptissant tout ceci... En attendant, le nez est magistral ! Larmes dominant est la confiture de fraise, avec son lot de fruits rouges et baies noires (myrtille, framboise, mre...). Jai rarement eu un nez sur la fraise aussi prononc, cest un rgal. Derrire, on devine les bons malts, des sucres nobles, le miel, la gele de coin, le caramel et le sirop drable en petite dose, les notes dagrumes (orange, pamplemousse, pomelo), les notes boises lointaines, labricot gorg de soleil, lananas, la banane, la mirabelle, la vanille... Franchement, cest droutant mais quest ce que cest bon ! Il me tarde de glisser le breuvage dans le gosier... La texture est race, avec une scheresse qui dispute aux sucres et la rondeur, lalcool est au top niveau avec ses 8.2% tonnants de vivacit sans masquer quoi que ce soit, lamertume est bien l avec une astringence soutenue tandis que la levure est impeccable et que la carbonatation est dans la moyenne. Non, ce qui surprend aprs le premier contact buccal, cest cette astringence avec de grosses notes de bois (cdre, pin, chne...), de rsine, de cire et de cuir. Cest vraiment une impression singulire qui dnote par rapport au nez trs fruit. Vraiment, un superbe exercice dquilibriste en plus dun jeu subtil sur les textures et les sensations. Le final est sur ces notes de bois et de levure, de crypte, dglise et dencens, long, lancinant, enivrant. Un breuvage unique en son genre, un must ! Bouteille33cl, Boissons du Monde, Saint-Egrve.

PREZENTACJA: ciemnobrązowe, pod światło rubinowe, bardzo obfita piana dość szybko się dziurawi i opada do i tak solidnego kożucha, pozostawiając na szkle sporo śladw;
AROMAT: karmel, cukier trzcinowy, rum, lekki alkohol, po chwili czuć też pieczone jabłko i czekoladę;
ODCZUCIE: ciało niskie, średnio nasycone, bardzo lekko rozgrzewa przełyk;
SMAK: początkowo bardzo wytrawny - palony karmel, cukier trzcinowy, przechodzi w obrzydliwie słodki - też karmel i cukier trzcinowy, a także odrobina alkoholu, po tym przychodzi zbyt słabo kontrująca drewniana goryczka i dość długi metaliczno-czekoladowy posmak;
OGLNIE: piwo ładnie się prezentuje, ma złożone aromat i smak, choć w tym drugim przeszkadza w pewnym momencie ogromna słodycz i nieprzyjemny bo kończąca go silna metaliczna nuta.

At Bruges Beer Fest 2017. Pours dark brown with a dense beige head. The aroma contains roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, raisins and some yeast. It tastes light sweet and medium bitter. The finish is dry and hoppy. Creamy texture, soft carbonation. Not a typical dessert beer for its style; well-balanced.

Thick creamy light brown head stayed well on a very dark brown, slightly effervescent body. Huge aroma - malt, dark chocolate, dark fruit, coffee & spirit. Smooth to the fore, thick & creamy on the tongue with a nice tickle on the back. Sweet on the front with raisins, brown sugar, malt & caramel followed by a bitter, tangy back of dried fruit, coffee & hints of citrus.

Bottle shared in London - thanks to Fergus. Pours clear red-brown with a creamy, tan head. The nose has some well toasted bread, ripe berries, earth. Medium sweet flavour with more ripe, leathery berries, raisins, earth, toast. medium bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with minimal warmth, toasty bread, more ripe berries, nips of oxidation. Enjoyable.

Bottle aged for a couple years thanks to Fergus. It pours darkest red - brown with a thick light tan head. The aroma is sweet, spicy, toasted nut, walnut, treacle, rocky road, varnish, old wood, dried fruits and fruit cake. The taste is bitter - sweet, toasted nuts, earthy, dried fruits, treacle, D&B, sticky, earthy, toffee and spice with a warming finish. Medium - full body and high, foamy carbonation. Decent.

Bottle shared at Leightons place, 29/12/2016. A reddy copper coloured pour with a a lasting beige head. Aroma Brown sugars, muscovado, Belgian yeast, cakey malts, Red berries. Flavour is composed charred woody, red fruit, liquorice, woody, spicy. Palate is frothy, musty, tangy, highish carbonation. Burnt sugars.
