Troubadour Obscura is a Belgian Dark Strong Ale with 8,5 % alc. and refermentation in the bottle. Poured in the special glass, Troubadour Obscura has a nice creamy foam head. The beer has a malty character with a nice little roasty flavour. Troubadour Obscura has a mild bitterness, which is a bit stronger in the aftertaste. Troubadour Obscura has a mainly malty aroma. The smell of roasted, burned wood is completed by a light chocolate touch. Troubadour Obscura is produced with 4 different types of malt, hops, yeast and water.

Bottle.Dark brown colour with medium beige head.Aroma of chocolate and dark dried fruits,good full body and sweet with hint of brown sugar and caramel,well balanced and nice.

Beau col de mousse mais non persistant, mousse aérienne flottante , mais tres fine. Aspect foncé, carbonatation moyenne. Au nez cà sent le caramel et le malt torréfié, et peut etre un zest de chocolat. En bouche on attaque direct sur le coté torréfié et le coté caramel sucré ressort apres. la finale et longue et chocolatée, le nez avait raison. Agréable mais pas ma tasse de thé.

Murky brown color with creamy tan head. Aroma has caramelised fruits, brown sugar and some cacao notes. Taste is sugary, slightly fruity, roasty with a light dark chocolate flavor and bitterness. Medium plus body and carbonation.

Bottle 330 ml at ABV 8.2 % from Real Ale Ltd, Little Venice. Beige big head and black/dark amber body. Taste is roasted malts, yeast, fruity notes, some caramel and alcohol. Quite rich. Overall good beer.

UPDATED: SEP 30, 2017 Bottle. Dark pour with thick creamy head. Malty aroma. Medium-strong body. Malt, chockolate and slight smokiness in the flavour. Bitter, chockolate and subtle coffee in the aftertaste.

Rich malty aroma with a nice sweet touch of burnt sugar and dark fruit jam. Taste is malty aswell, lightly roasty and has a subtle chocolate flavor. Quite bitter ending, but pleasant. Very nice!

Pretty nice Belgian ale. Dark and rich. Lots of spice, some licorice and plums. Nice amount of booze to boot. Tried at Dario’s in Omaha in 2017.
