from Au Grain dOrge, Crissier - very dark brown beer under a solid long lasting beige foam; nice lace-work; licorice and black cherries dominate the nose; full-bodied and quite sweet; fairly bitter, some residual sweetness in a long hoppy finish showing notes of prunes, black cherries and licorice - quite simplistic and lacking a bit of dimension

bottle, big thannks to tderoeck for the trade, fresh from the source. more like a dark red ipa than a black ipa, shortlived head, moderate lacing; aroma of cocoa powder, tropical fruits; slightly underwhelming bitterness, stonefruits, chocolate milk; okayish but not as good as i was expecting

750ml bottle enjoyed @ a friends cottage. Pours dark red brown with a small off-whit head. Aroma is floral, hints of coffee, roasted malt, carame and alcohol. Flavour is bittersweet. Medium bodied, thin texture, soft texture. Finish is hoppy and rancid with a little alcohol burn.

Not really sure what kind of beer this is branded as, it has a nice hop aroma and finish, but there is a clear alcohol presence , but that doesnt take away from its drinkability.

28/07/2015 @Centerpars Meerdal, 33cl bottle from a gift. Black colour with small head. Much coffee in nose & taste, some caramel, hops. Bitter ending. Just a bit too high on coffee for me, I wouldve loved more hops taste.

Keg at the Hanging Bat. Pours dark brown with a thin beige head. Aromas of toffee, cooked sugar, smoke. Taste is toffee, light bitter. More of a dubbel without the yeast kick.
