Bottled 33cl. It pours a dark, murky, deep ruby beer with a healthy bubbly beige head. Grapefruit, boletus, shallots, resinous hops and roasted malt showing up in the nose. Boletus rather apparent in the taste. Medium bodied. The alcohol is well hidden. Nice roasted malt components on the swallow. Good bitterness. Dark chocolate and grapefruit in the dryish finish where yeasty components sneak in. Blastomorpha (93) - - SEP 18, 2016
It’s more a stout that reminds a bit of a IPA (a tad of citrusy bitterness in the back of the tongue) than the contrary. willisread (3342) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - AUG 26, 2016
Bottle at Hiranoya. Pours a deep brown to black with a gorgeous cappuccino colored head that lasts throughout. Big star anise and molasses forward nose with some roasted coffee and grassy hops as it warms. Hides the abv quite well. The finish has dark cacao, light berry mixed with grassy hops and lemon with shiso. Nice grassy, herbal bitterness. Solid. Mister_Li (1376) - GERMANY - AUG 25, 2016
Trübes dunkles rotbraun mit durchschnittlicher Schaumkrone. Malzig, Röstaromen, nussig, leicht fruchtig, etwas Zitrus, angenehm bitter. m.mahu (191) - Iasi, ROMANIA - AUG 24, 2016
UPDATED: JAN 4, 2017 Pours dark brown, generous beige head, with high carbonation. The taste is sweet overall, with plenty of roasted malts, hops and slightly coffee taste. Light bitterness towards the end.One of my favourites. Love the way the alcohol is hidden in all their beers. Good for long, lazy sessions.

Pours a dark brown colour, with a medium tan head that leaves a good creamy lace when fading. Aroma of chocolates, dried fruits, prunes, milk chocolate. Medium body, lively carbonation. Creamy palate. Taste ofprunes, coffee, chocolate, brandy. Really good. biirusaikou (2705) - - AUG 19, 2016
Bottle at Porte Noire. Super hoppy black ipa-ish dark beer with a sweet coffee base. Quite different and enjoyable, one of my favorite Troubadour. Sjohnh (947) - Coventry, West Midlands, ENGLAND - AUG 14, 2016
Bottle from Beer Gonzo. Dark brown with a good layer of tan head. Body is medium to full, with liveliness provided by the alcohol rather than carbonation. Nose has caramel and molasses, some grapefruit from the hops and it’s nutty, too. Flavour starts with licqorice and sweet malt, then the hops bring a measure of citrus and it finishes with moderate bitterness. Very good. sjogro (4135) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - AUG 7, 2016
Bottle at home. Near black with big and firm tan head. Sweet roasted malts, chestnut, maple syrup, roasted pineapple and piney resiny hops. Big sweet and powdery cocoa bitter. Full body, dense and malty, soft and creamy feel, soft carbonation. Chocolatey finish, quite nice but not your typical Black IPA. More like an imperial stout with IPA-like aroma hops. Bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear dark brown with a small tan head and an aroma of caramel, roasted malts, coffee, dark chocolate and hops. The taste is slightly sweet and medium bitter, with a mediumlasting bitter finish. Nice beer!
