Bottle at home. Near black with big and firm tan head. Sweet roasted malts, chestnut, maple syrup, roasted pineapple and piney resiny hops. Big sweet and powdery cocoa bitter. Full body, dense and malty, soft and creamy feel, soft carbonation. Chocolatey finish, quite nice but not your typical Black IPA. More like an imperial stout with IPA-like aroma hops. Bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear dark brown with a small tan head and an aroma of caramel, roasted malts, coffee, dark chocolate and hops. The taste is slightly sweet and medium bitter, with a mediumlasting bitter finish. Nice beer!

Opaque black color with tanned head. Aroma has licorice, lactic aromas, roasted malt. Taste is malty with long bitter aftertaste. Flavors of roasted malt, lactic elements, cocoa, hops.
appearance: medium brown, opaque, with a creamy tan head and decent lacing. aroma: very hoppy nose, full of pine, grapefruit, general resin, and some grassy notes too; under that is some coffee and caramel. taste: bittersweet dark chocolate, toffee, coffee, brown toast, then some citrusy hop notes, followed by a splash of green spruce. finish: alcohol extremely well-hidden; lingering toasty dark malts, balanced by the citrus and pine. notes: Smelled like an IPA, drank like a generously-hopped sweet stout. That’s-a-nice! Bottle from the Rare Beer Club.

This is close to the best IPA beers I ever drink. I was already convinced by Obscura and Magma variations of this beer, but this one tops both overall. Very dark one with a strong aftertaste, quite complex, coffee-like, alcohol level is very decent too but never hide the beer aroma. This is more than enjoyable, it’s definitely a pleasure. So, of course, this beer is... APPROVED BY TAVERNY’S BLACK METAL CREW !

Very dark color with tall beige head. Aroma of vanilla, resins, and hops. Taste is sweet with bitter finish. Well balanced IPA, which I would definitely try again. Gramoit (491) - Surrey, ENGLAND - MAY 29, 2016
Good Black Ipa, Would try again. Quite hoppy on the nose, whilst malt taking the lead in taste. Good mix of Ipa and stout qualities. TBone (17685) - Pori, FINLAND - MAY 19, 2016

Dark ruby color, good creamy beige head, lace. Woody, resiny, even caramelly-berryish nose. Medium-bodied. Sweetish caramel, resin, pine. Alcoholic kick. Warming. Robust, hoppy and also a bit boozy DIPA. Black IPA this is not.
Really good beer, totally dark with a huge dark beige head. Tastes of roasted malt, resins and some caramel, hops and cocoa. It’s not too bitter, but it’s really well balanced, remarkable beer I would gladly try again. venom666 (1032) - Elche, Alicante, SPAIN - MAY 15, 2016
Pours a hazy dark brown color with medium to high beige head. Roasty aroma, caramel, coffee, alcohol, resin and slightly citrus. Taste follows the aroma, roasty/toasty, resiny, caramely and citrusy, but with a strong alcoholic note. Moderate bitterness on the aftertaste.
