Bottle from Wine & Cheese in Clayton, MO. Capped 750. Pours dark brown with a 5 finger creamy light tan head. Aroma of dark malt with chocolate. Could be full bodied. Flavor is dark malt, chocolate and a lot of hop - which does seem to be resinous. It’s very smooth - tho the hop bite interjects. Finishes just a bit ashy, bitter and entirely delicious.
UPDATED: JAN 10, 2018 Aroma is malt, yeast and some caramel. Taste is malty and pleasantly crisp with hints of caramel and hot cocoa. Balanced bitter-sweet after. brandy cools (36) - antwerp, BELGIUM - JAN 6, 2018
It looks a very dark brown, almost black. It has a lasting ivory head.. Aroma is not outspoken, a bit faint. Malt, fruitiness (dried fruit, forest fruit), some sweetness. maybe candisugar. Taste has malt and hop, bitterness is not as high as some ipa's. Some yeast and a hint of coffee/chicoree. Full taste. A bit of fruitiness, dried dark fruit. Enjoyable beer. 330ml bottle from RusBeerShop in Moscow. Pours dark brown/black with a wonderful frothy beige head. Aroma is yeast, caramel, dried fruit. Taste is medium sweet, toffee, chocolate, light bitterness. Really tasty, but very uncharacteristic for a black IPA. Dorqui (2298) - Brescia, ITALY - DEC 29, 2017
Bottled 0,33L. Dark brown/black color, much fraught and hazy aspect with very voluminous and creamy head of long long duration. Intense roasty cereals and cellar notes, soft reddish grapes rumors, yeast, and alcohol. Intense round and solid mouth, not elevated alcoholic perception even if it's a beer over 9%, but altogheter fraught, warm and sweet. vinivini (3146) - Gomel, BELARUS - DEC 28, 2017
Bottle. Cloudy brown colour. Yeast particles drifting around. Moderate ivory-coloured head. Aroma: noble spicy yeast, toffee, fruit jam, berries. Medium to full body. Rich malty taste. Dried fruit, some bread. Dry ending with plenty of grassy hops. Oh yes. Another Musketeers bomb.

Bottle from Salt Horse. Pours dark brown, foamy brown head. Big yeasty nose with some roasted malts. The mouthfeel is great - soft, slightly carbonated, fills the mouth. Taste is Belgian with a twist of some burnt caramel and dry hoppiness. Bin end price of £1.50 what an absolute bargain. mircoas (328) - ITALY - DEC 5, 2017
33cl @ bottle. Ipa scura del birrificio belga. Bella schiuma, aroma intenso. Birra molto beverina nonostante l'altra gradazione alcolica. Hopverdju (1642) - BELGIUM - NOV 17, 2017
8,5% op het etiket. Zwart bier met beige schuimkraag. Geur: geroosterde mout, wat koffie, licht kruidig. Smaak: redelijk zoet, licht bitter, wat aards. Goede koolzuurprikkel. Afdronk: bitterzoet. Tiens, ik dacht dit bier gedronken te hebben met meer hopbitterheid. Eens herproeven. Jimbo2 (554) - DENMARK - OCT 25, 2017
Super solid. Big malty base, roasted aromas and taste. Well balanced with decent hoppy bitterness. sjorsvdg (610) - NETHERLANDS - OCT 16, 2017
Prima black IPA van Troubadour. Een aangename hopbitterheid - niet te overheersend - in combinatie met wat karamel en notentoetsen. Prettig mondgevoel.
