(Bottle from Glen Beverage (NH)) Pours fairly dark garnet-tinged brown with a very big tan head that recedes slowly to about 1/8". Aroma is like red wine with some chocolate in there as well. Odd. Mouthfeel is like carbonated water, probably the wateriest stout I’ve ever tasted. Carbonation making me burp like crazy. Lacing: none. Flavor is like watered down cheap red wine mixed with some weak watery chocolate syrup and half-flat seltzer water. Throw in a little bit of some sourness, and yeah OK, some bitterness. This is horrible. YogiBeera (2569) - New Jersey, USA - APR 24, 2006
Dark brown color with a small fast diminishing head on top. cocolate and roasted almond nose. Light basalmico, cherry taste - nice one. Thanks a lot Jeff! pivo (2685) - GERMANY - APR 22, 2006
fresh roasted coffee nose, opaque dark brown color. Roasted malt, basalmic sourness, bitter chocolate bitter end. Thinish for a stout, but nice tastes overall. Gmoney (442) - Manchester, New Hampshire, USA - APR 2, 2006

UPDATED: AUG 13, 2007 Pours a one-finger light brown head that fades quickly to a thin layer leaving some lace. Nearly black hints of deep amber color. Light carbonation and heavy bodied. Roasted chocolate nose. Starts with a roasted chocolate flavor not totally sweet, finish is smooth, hops are in the background. $1.25 for a 12 oz bottle from Capital Convenience Concord, NH. jcwattsrugger (12418) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - MAR 5, 2006
12oz bottle ink stamped on bottom 5315-pours a creamy, light brown head. Color is black with a red tint. Aroma is coffee, hint of oatmeal. Upon drinking, the first impression is a light refreshing sensation, followed by a coffee, oatmeal taste. Comes across as a lighter body & mouthfeel than usual for the category. Nicely done, but not my taste. Quevillon (3061) - Boisbriand, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 26, 2006
Alcool % : 4.9. Elle est bonne, mais je trouve qu’ il y a trop de goût de chocolat et d’avoine. mkobes (2142) - paramus, New Jersey, USA - SEP 5, 2005
On tap at fest. Deep dark brown in color with a huge tan fluffy head. Aroma is chocolatety and malty. Flavor is malty. Chocolate and caramel notes. Off tasting. Lactic. Thin. Roasty. Dry finish. Something wasn’t right though. lagermonkey (725) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - MAY 9, 2005
Pours dark, dark brown with barley a hint of a head. Smells of oats. Dry. Sweet chocolate aromas underscored by roasted smells as well.
Tastes of strong bitter chocolate up front. Big oat flavors. Burnt/roasted malt with smoke underneath. Nice flavors. A bit thin bodied but finishes dry as a counterpoint to the sweetness. Lots going on here but the flavors are a a bit haphazard. A bit of balancing would do this brew some good. Decent enough to try again.
