Bottle to glass. This one was in a craft brew of the month club that my gf got me for valentine’s day. Aroma is chocolate, sweet, caramel, heavy malt. Appearance is dark brown and thin ring head. taste is low hops, high malt, chocolate, caramel, and sweet. Palate is heavy mouthfeel along with a malty finish. Great oatmeal stout! Would definitely have again, but I’m not going to be able to find this one in the Indiana region. williamherbert (1544) - Syracuse, New York, USA - AUG 30, 2009
The brown in this has an unusual reddish tinge. Puffy, creamy head; Guinness territory. Uniquely red like an amber. Great.
Roasted and smoky in the nose. Dark chocolates and mocha coffee. Dry malts with that bready oatmeal popping out. Hint of vanilla, raisin, grape.
The taste is lots of raisins, dates and tobacco. Bittersweet burnt malts. Vanilla is an accent. A little maple syrup too. A very complex flavor.
Really creamy with a tad of grit. Ashy and strong. A solid, solid oatmeal stout. Really mild and delicious. Everyone else on RB seems to be crapping all over this one but for the life of me I can’t figure out why. SanfordBrewer (1574) - Sanford, Florida, USA - JUL 7, 2010
black and fairly simple, with lots of chocolaty roasted malt. medium bodied but not silky. UnionMade (621) - Connecticut, USA - MAY 26, 2003
Pours a dark reddish brown, with very little head, even in the pour. Nearly black. Aroma is wonderful. Toasty chocolate, roasted malts and a bit of black coffee. Flavor is rich and very smooth. Bittersweet chocolate and black coffee. Body is medium, with mild carbonation and a great smooth mouthfeel. A decent oatmeal stout flavor, with a rich chocolatey flavor. Finish is moderately dry. I'm happy with it, and I'll get it again. Kaya161 (1139) - San Diego, California, USA - NOV 12, 2001
Not as sweet as I expected, but good. Nice contrast between bitter and sweet. Much too thin on the palate, however.

Pours a dark brown almost black with a bubbly tan-white head that doesn’t stick around to long. Aromas of chocolate and coffee and maybe a bit of caramel. No hop presence at all this one is all malt. Taste is chocolaty and kind of roasty. Has an acidic taste in the finish, subtle but there. Mouthfeel is creamy, body is medium, could use a bit more IMHO. Overall a decent brew. I would have liked a bit more roast and body, but I could see myself drinking a few of these. I’d like to visit this one again on tap.

A good stout, not great but good. Prefer mine a bit more hoppy and a bit more dry at the finish. Nice nose and a good stout none the less. GonZoBeeR (3061) - ste-catherine, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 23, 2005

Pours dark, dark brown with barley a hint of a head. Smells of oats. Dry. Sweet chocolate aromas underscored by roasted smells as well.
Tastes of strong bitter chocolate up front. Big oat flavors. Burnt/roasted malt with smoke underneath. Nice flavors. A bit thin bodied but finishes dry as a counterpoint to the sweetness. Lots going on here but the flavors are a a bit haphazard. A bit of balancing would do this brew some good. Decent enough to try again.

Alcool % : 4.9. Elle est bonne, mais je trouve qu’ il y a trop de goût de chocolat et d’avoine.
