(Bottle/Draft) Reddish/copper color with a slight white head. Slight sour taste and little else. Not even close to my favorite. kujo9 (1095) - North Ridgeville, Ohio, USA - FEB 21, 2004
Orangey amber body w/a short lasting off white head. Lightly malty and fruity and has a sweet candylike aroma and the lightest little hint of roast. It's well balanced, and has a cherry candy finish and aftertaste. Finish is also on the dry side. It doesn't really have any distinctive flavors that stand out, save the cherry candy flavor. Lighter bodied and slightly dry in the mouth, lighter carbonation. Not terribly impressive as far as American reds go, but not undrinkable. Eyedrinkale (3235) - Astoria, New York, USA - JAN 26, 2004
Looks and tastes like every other damn Vermont amber ale. I swear, you could line them all up and even the brewers couldn't tell the difference between them. dirtymike (2016) - Manchester, New Hampshire, USA - JAN 5, 2004
Amberish/orange cloudy color with a small white head....that's about all I have nice to say about.Sour, tart, yet sweet and tangy malt charcater(atleast i think it's malt),lingering unpleasant hoppy finish. Volgon (2761) - Manchester, New Hampshire, USA - JAN 3, 2004
Cloudy amber color with a big white head. Malts with slight sourness in the aroma. Starts with a sour note and then ends. I can't imagine that they wanted the beer to taste like this, but after having the last beer that they made, I can't be sure.

Pours with a deep reddish-brown body topped by a medium thick, lasting, off-white head with good lacing left behind. Slightly bitter, grassy, woody hop aroma with a nice balance of malt. Slightly biter, grassy hop flavor with slightly sweet, fruity notes and some malt for balance. The finish is clean. Medium bodied and smooth. JahNoth (1039) - Rochester, New York, USA - JUL 5, 2003
Gorgeous red color with a cloudy appearance. Nice malt flavor with a tangy bit of oranges and pineapples - kind of like sweet-n-sour sauce at a Chinese restaurant. Malt tingles on the tongue. Very nice. OldGrowth (3665) - the Containment Area, North Carolina, USA - JUN 13, 2003
Bottle: Fruity apple nose. Good amber color, hazy though. Apple nutty flavor(like it says) Finish is a tad creamy but crisp. Nothing special. Kinda disappointing after reading about brewery in brew news, but they never have anything bad to say. goz (359) - Chelmsford, Massachusetts, USA - JUN 12, 2003
Pours a medium reddish amber, medium creamy white head which quickly and mostly diminshes to nothing. Aroma is sweet, slighty fruity, hints of caramel. Flavor is sweet (mostly apple), ending with mild hoppiness. Body is medium, medium carbonation present. Hopistotle420 (1177) - Amherst, Massachusetts, USA - SEP 9, 2002
Fruity malt nose. Reddish-orange hue. Off white head, with nice lacing. Light to medium bodied. Malt sweetness, some nuttiness, slight hoppiness. Easy drinking, quaffable beer. Yet not very extraordinary. Crisp finish is enjoyable.
