UPDATED: OCT 12, 2008 9/15/2004. Just tried this on tap at my local bar. Dark reddish color topped with a relatively small white head and an adequate amount of lacing. Aroma is sweety and malty, with a citrus, fruity flavor mixed in with some spice. Nothing too complex at all, but it was very smooth with a clean finish. Easy to drink a bunch of these which I ended up doing tonight tronraner (2459) - Walland, Tennessee, USA - APR 5, 2008
Bottle from jjpm74. Pours a cloudy rust color with big off-white head. The aroma is sweet caramel with some sweet fruity notes and a very very light roasted hint. The flavor is far fruitier than I was expecting. Strawberry and melon abound, with only a light hint of caramel. The finish dries out unexpectedly, but gives it an almost refreshing twist. A bit of a strange amber ale, but I’ll have no problem finishing the bottle. blklab2007 (2120) - Connecticut, USA - MAR 25, 2008
i poured out the bottle into the glass and being a little busy at the time left it to warm for a minute. coming back to it i had a thirst and took a sip before sitting down to rate it. i felt this chunky bit on my tongue that was not right and stopped. holding the glass to the bright light there is this floating matter in the beer like suspended molded particles. really bad looking stuff that could have been from dirty lines but either way caused the beer to go right down the drain. from what i remember of the sip it was not so hot to begin with. UPDATED: FEB 25, 2008 Nice color and palate but the aroma and taste were pretty bad. Maybe the bottle had oxidized or something. It tasted very much of cardboard. I remember liking this when I first tried it about six years ago so I might try again and see if it was just a bad bottle.
I think the last one was a bad bottle. This one is better with lots of caramel flavor and nuttiness. Would like to see a little more carbonation and less sweetness. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - DEC 31, 2007

Draught: Fruity aroma of floral hops and strawberry. Poured amber in color with a small off-white head that diminished quickly. Hazy. Sparkling. Medium sweet flavor of malts, caramel, nuts, berries, and a tiny bit of piney hops. Medium body. Sticky texture. Average carbonation. Malty finish. beerhandy (195) - Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA - DEC 17, 2007

On draft at Three Needs, Burlington. Poured amber with decent head retention. Not much aroma going on. Flavor was of sweet malty nuts with a touch of bitterness. rocbyter (2186) - Waterbury, Connecticut, USA - NOV 6, 2007
Light malt aroma with a hint of cinnamon. Clear amber color with a small white head. Mild start with a slight bitter cinnamon finish. Light palate. VikingHammer (506) - Lynnfield, Massachusetts, USA - AUG 27, 2007
Amber pour with a big white head. Rather fruity aroma. Sweet taste that ends with a slight bitterness. Wasn’t very impressed.
