bartlebier (4123) - Belchium im Biersgau, GERMANY - JAN 16, 2017
Skat-alleviating 6-pack, inter festas bb05/2017. - Hallertauer and Spalter Select used over crisp biscuit malts with a near-Saazy bite. Herbal hops with heft and that "sawdust nettle" edge. Sturdy decocted body without being protein-stodgy. Not refreshing as a Pils per se, but full of character and the obvious choice over overfiltered Urquell when in, or for that matter: near, Old Habsburg dominions. Much underated here imho. Must look into those Mühlviertler hops...

Aus der Flasche getrunken (Händlerlieferung). Klares Gold mit akzeptabler Schaumdecke. Gute Hopfenbalance.

PowY (1043) - AUSTRIA - OCT 25, 2016
330 ml bottle. Pours clear straw-yellow with a white head. The aroma is grainy. Medium body with soft carbonation and a medium sweetness and low bitterness. The taste is malty (biscuits, dried fruits) and rather simple.

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2017 Re-rate after having had a glas from the tap at a restaurant and fresh bottles on NYE: 7/4/7/4/13. Refreshing, flavourful and very nice. It’s almost creamy from the tap, fresh bottles come close. Very good, high quality shows through.

Pours a pale, clear gold with little white head. Aroma of grass, hay, grains, slight notes of lemons, slightly floral. Taste is slightly sweet, turns into light bitterness. Slender, slightly oily body, medium carbonation, dry finish with a pinch of salt, lemons and pleasant light bitterness. This is a light, easily drinkable Pilsner. All different notes in the aroma and taste are very distinguished and balanced. I wouldn?t say it?s a overly special beer, in terms of having unique characteristics that make it stand out. It?s well crafted, pleasant, and goes great with food. My go-to Pils from Austria.

darkseduction (761) - Zweibrücken, GERMANY - AUG 19, 2016
Flasche 33cl @ Trumer Brauerei. Laut Etikett mit Hallertauer Perle und Spalter Select gebraut. Schöne Hopfige Nase, Kräuter, Erde, Harz. Kohlensäure genau richtig, weicher Abgang. Sehr ordentlich, am Select wurde nicht gespart. Persönlicher Spitzenreiter in Österreich!!

Blueshawk (464) - Bad Bellingen, GERMANY - AUG 16, 2016

BeardedAvenger (1131) - Addlestone, Surrey, ENGLAND - JUL 21, 2016
Bottle at home, 21/07/16. Brought back from Vienna by my parents. Sweet an hazy aroma - grass, floral, perhaps honey? Extremely pale gold. Fizzy. Unipressive white head - an archipeligo! First impression on drinking it is how pleasant it is on the palate - smooth and soft - frothy carbonation. Initially notived the sweetness but the slightly bitter edge gradually took prominence. Grapefruit with a that honey aroma coming through. Not normally the biggest fan of a Pils, but this I really enjoyed.

visionthing (5534) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - JUN 26, 2016
50cl on tap at himmelblau, Wien. Clear pale golden to yellow, with a tall, white head. Mild grainy flavours with light grassy and herbal notes. Quite decent classic German type pilsner. Moderate sweet with rather mild flavours and a fine bitterness. Fairly enjoyable.

Kampfar (285) - Osnabrück, GERMANY - JUN 4, 2016
From tap at Bierfest Münster. Clear hay yellow, white head. Grassy hoppy notes. Light bitter initial taste, crisp, slightly malty, light bread, nicely well balanced. Average long finish. Light to medium bodied with medium to high carbonation.
