Very hazy golden coloured body with a smallish, large-bubbled pure white head, only a centimetre tall. Aroma of pale wheat, malt, yeast, brett, grain, sour funk, light citrus and way more brett and wild yeasts. Light-bodied; Strong mellow grassy, herbal, citrus, yeastie, sour, lactic flavours dominate with nothing too deep or pungent, but a lot of complexities. Aftertaste is just as mild with a little more sweetness from fruit that is pronounced, along with the brett and wild yeast flavours that are dominant along with very light malts. Overall, an interesting beer that has a lot of complexity, but no real deep or pungent flavours. A smooth and easy-drinking beer, with a touch of a bretty kick, but not much of anything really, throughout this beer. Nothing bad with it, just not enough flavour to make this great. I sampled this 37,5 cL split bottle purchased from Mr. Bs Wine & Spirits in Denver, Colorado on 18-March-2016 for US$6,99 sampled at home in Washington on 03-November-2016.

From Trve bottle, pours a hazy brown with small white head. Notes are pretty sour and lactic forward with Oude bruin wood, lemon, vinegar and oak. A little sharp for me.

Very yeasty pour and citrus and farmhouse aroma on unfiltered citrus. Toast taste, lacto, mouldy bread. Some sour finish. Unique. A bit of lace.

More grainy and funky than tart, fairly light bodied. Pale malts, some saison spices. Pretty solid.

Slightly hazy golden with no head. Clean blonde malt aroma with nothing much going on there. Not very sour flavor at all, just kinda bland and blonde and a touch earthy dry. Very very slightly fruity. Wish it were at least a little tart.

375 ml bottle poured a cloudy gold with a lasting off white head. Aromas of straw, horse blanket, apple and light citrus. Palate was light bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of straw, citrus, light horse blanket and light apple with a smooth dry finish.

bottle from the brewery. Pours really cloudy yellow with a small white head. The aroma is full of peaches and passionfruit with a little pepper and hay and basement in the background. The mouthfeel is pretty spritzy. This doesnt seem to be as dry as most of their beers in this vein. Flavors of pineapple come out along with green peppers and cheese. This is perhaps a little tart in a citrusy kind of way, but not assertively sour. Pretty interesting beer, but kinda just makes me want to reach for a different TRVE offering. This one is just a little rougher around the edges for them.

Bottle (gusher). Head is initially small, fizzy, off-white, mostly/fully diminishing. Body is cloudy dark yellow, bottle conditioned. Aroma is lightly malty (grain, corn starch), lightly yeasty (cobwebs), with strong notes of apple and sour apple, lighter note of rubber. Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, moderately to heavily acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately to heavily acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Light to medium body, watery texture, fizzy carbonation. This spewed everywhere upon opening, and I instantly feared infection. And then the scent of apple hit my nostrils. This reminded me a lot of Casey Brewings saison, which is also basically a bad cider. Like that one, this too smells of little more than apples, and is quite sour, thin, watery, and fizzy. Just nothing good about it, honestly. I figured since Lifes Trade wasnt too bad that Id give this new brewery a second shot, but wow...this is pretty awful. Im not sure if I want to find out which one is more representative of the brewerys average quality. Being a metalhead all my life makes this all the more painful.
