September 10th, 2014 - As my birthday comes to a close, so does my appetite for more beer. Its been a sloshing good day, with suds on the hour every hour, and I end it with some of the sinister darkness on tap at TVRE, a new-to-me brewery with some heavy undertones of satanic ritual and sacrifice. The Gray Watcher was recommended by the acolyte behind the bar. This brews color is lost to memory, as it was far too dark inside to capture a good portrait shot, but the aroma was bright and clear even in the murky darkness: light, with marshmallows and tangerines, a decidedly bright and chipper scent for a den of dark magicks. The flavor is sweet, sudsy and tangy, overflowing with clementine and citrus. Its a nice bright beer, but tastes out of place here, where something stickier, stouter and more nefarious seems like more appropriate quaffing. (No points deducted for setting, though.)

Poured from a bottle into a sample glass: Pours hazy straw with a small white head. Aroma of sour citrus, cracker malts, minerals. Taste is more of the same with a nice balance of citrus fruit and dry tartness. A bit thinner than some of the grisettes we were rating. Decent.

Full pour at the brewery during GABF week 2015. Some sweetness, wet grass, yeast, and an earthy finish. Light spices, it does not seem to be sweetened but it has not yet become sour with the lactic
