Hazy deep cherry-copper hue with a thin light pink cap. Big funky acidic nose of red wine and cherries and wild dusty funky bactillic tones. Big tart and crisp flavor that’s loaded with cherries and wild bactillic woody funk, and a wild earthy sour finish. Pretty cherried but highly wild and acidic.

Bottle shared with Brian. Pours hazy purplish-pink, with a small, fleeting, white head. The nose is tart cherries and greek yogurt, with some nutmeg and light lemon zest. Sweet and fruity, with a lovely, mellow, tart flavor that lingers through the finish. Light to medium body, effervescent, pretty acidic, with a smooth, clean feel. This is a delicious and very well made cherry sour. Aggressive and complex, yet easy and balanced. Seriously tasty.

Minimal haze to the light, pinkish-tinged, cherry red body. Rose-tinted white head atop is medium-sized and shows moderate retention.
Lovely, funky and cherry-laden nose shows the meaty, pulpy, pit-heavy Montmorency goodness, soft, well-developed yeast/bacteria funk and a hint of sulfur, which is quite endearing. Light black pepper and medicinal notes from the cherry, as well, with seemingly well-attenuated malts and light honey and biscuit character. No alcohol or flaw.
In the mouth, it has low but tight carbonation and a soft, malty, yet well-attenuated body. Cherries are nicely dry and lightly tart, adding a fleshy, soft, mildly sweet flavor and lots of malic acid, skin tannin and peppery pit qualities. Tartness from the yeast/bacteria is well-controlled/developed. Great subtle funk to it and honestly reminds me of a lambic. One of the better cherry sours I’ve had in a while.

Birthday bottle share from KansaiBeerLvrs. Pours rosé pink. Pale/white head dissipating fast. Scent of sour cherry, marzipan/Amarillo cherry. Tastes a lot sweeter than the nose- more Amarillo cherry. A great summer sipper sour.

TRVE Red Chaos Bottle through a trade with wchesser, thanks for the hook up. Shared to celebrate my buddy’s birthday. A beautiful pink that is salmon in the glass with a tart oaky marciero cherry aroma. The taste is surprisingly sweet dark cherries and light oak. Really good and so drinkable. This is an exceptionally approachable sour that while tart has enough sweetness to satisfy anyone. Exemplary.

Bottle from the brewery. This beer is ultra red with a fairly clear body and an almost pinkish fluffy head. Tons of cherry is in the aroma with really tasteful sour funk. Loads of cherry continues to makes its presence known in the flavor. Suggestions of wool, pie crust, cinnamon, cherry vinaigrette all come through in the flavor. The palate is full enough and finishes dry. I absolutely love all the sour characteristics of this beer. TRVE has definitely come into their own as far as this kind of fermentation is concerned. Personally, I could use less cherry. However, it’s clear that TRVE’s intent was to overload this one with Montmorency cherries and they shouldn’t have changed their approach because I’d bet money I’m in the the minority in wishing there was a little less cherry. It certainly makes the beer look cool too. While extremely fruity, it still has a very natural aroma and flavor to it. It’s remarkably like cherry pie. There’s enough beer character to keep me happy until the very end of the bottle.
