Bottle from Aldi. Murky brown body with a thin off-white head. mild aroma of grass, earth and lightly roasted malt. Dull flavour of sweet malt and spicy hops. Thin body with a watery mouthfeel. Soft carbonation. A boring Bitter.

500ml bottle conditioned. Pours light brown with minimal off white head.Sweetish caramel and fruit aroma. Flavour is well balanced with noticeable wheat and medium bitterness and sweetness. A very nice 80/-.

Scotland: Thistly cross beer fest. Overly bitter for the style. Not really worht seeking out.

A present from the Falkirk Wheel: my bottle is the ’Wheel Ale’ version. 500ml bottle conditioned: BBD Sep 2013, poured slowly into an Abbot Ale glass tankard on 25 July 2013. Lovely looking beer: deep ruby/brown with a huge lightly tanned head on top. Malty smell and taste: crisp and sharp also, this is a complex brew. Roasted malts leap out the glass into your nose, semi-sweet and almost chocolatey in nature. Yeast notes appear as the beer warms a little, adding complexity and interest to the aroma. The taste is a malt led with a blend of tangy hops below the surface giving a wonderful full feel, a yeasty taste also aids the overall flavourings to produce a truly pleasant dark beer.

(cask) pours a clear amber-ruby colour with a frothy off-white head. aroma of fresh wort, grass and milk chocolate, with a hint of roasted malt, toffee and raisins. flavour is light barnyard, caramel, milk chocolate and salted popcorn, with a light sweetness and slightly herbal-hoppy light roasted-bitter finish. medium-bodied with soft carbonation.

stravale (3088) - Co. Westmeath, IRELAND - FEB 12, 2013
Bottle from Tomlinsons, Inverness [120213]
Caramel brown, clear, frothy whote head, some lacing
Aroma of wet hay, light spicy hop
Taste of some hay, spicy bit earthy hops, hedgerow fruits, background of light brown caramel malts,
Palate soft to moderate carb with a thin body. Light mouthfeel. Finish - some bitter grain malts, hint of fruits with a dab of earthy roast and some more bitterness in the linger
Overall - Nowhere near as malty as I expected for an 80/-, fair amount of that wet hay and earthy spicy hop in there. It’s just OK.

In the bottle this smells to me like freshly cleaned porcelain. Sickly sweet buttery nose .Medium brown . Sour. No carbonation. Flat as a pancake.I think this is off but what the hell, its gonna get some numbers.

From cask at Blackfriars. Pours clear and golden deep amber to mahoghoni brown with a small tan head. Aroma is roasted malty, light caramelish to light cinnamon spiced. Toasted malty, bitter, caramelish dry to breadish. Roasted malty lingering finish.

Cask. An unspectacular bitter that has very few distinguishing characteristics. A decent enough pint but I would’ve have had a second.

rosenbergh (11755) - Tampere, FINLAND - SEP 8, 2012
Cask at the Gallows Bird, Espoo, Finland. Dark coppary reddish colour with small greyish tan head. Sourness, tartness and sweetish malt in aroma. I don't think it's supposed to be like this but it's not necessarily bad. Flavour is mild hops and heavy grainy malt. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
