Domestic version (thanks Per). Opaque black/very dark brown, bif creamy expresso head, lace. Light smokey and grainy nose. Toasted, coffeish, malty, medium bodied - watery background, does not show alcohol much. Bonus suprise is smokey notes in the aftertaste. Hands down the best beer from China so far!
Butelka. Piana gęsta, jasnobrązowa, aromaty czekoladowe i lekko kwiatowe, raczej wytrawne. Kolor ciemno brązowy, średnio gazowane.Jedno z lepszych piw chińskich. JonR888710 (999) - Cochabamba, BOLIVIA - FEB 15, 2006
Sampled along my great buddy, Jeremy in Shanghai. Malty, flavorful representation of one of China’s few dark beers. Slight smokiness, alright beer. bikesandbeers (547) - san diego, California, USA - NOV 2, 2005
The onlything I found in chinatown that was’t a pale lager, so it points for that. Pours a nice dark brwon with a medium beige head. Aroma of burnt malt. Flavor starts very sweet and finishes bitter and salty, almost llike soy sauce. Its unique for China, but there are much better beers in the world. coldbrewky (1731) - Hippetown East, New York, USA - MAR 26, 2007
One of these fell off the back of a truck and found its way to my house. Anyway, I’ve shied away from tring beer from China for they dont seem to be two words that belong together. Anywho....Not my idea of what a swartzbier should strive to be but lets face facts ....lots of things are lost in translation. A hint of asphalt and vanilla in bland underwhleming nose that pours into a unsophisticated brown. maybe it was a bit old or still upset from falling off the truck. who knows, still better then some I’ve had and probably the best stuff comercially available from those Commies.

Bottle. Ruby colour with a nice beige head. Rich coffee aroma and taste with notes of roasted malts. A bit thin. WVHouseofBeer (1108) - West Virginia, USA - JUL 10, 2016
Well this was a pleasant surprise........it was actually a real beer with flavor and depth. It was still rather light bodied and not great but better than I was expecting from Tsingtao. Aromas and flavors of chocolate, some coffee, caramel and some light soy sauce. Pours a very dark brown with a small khaki head. Beershine (5253) - VANCOUVER, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 23, 2011
@ Qingdao beer festival. Black with nice brown head. Aroma and flavors are thin and sweet, but pretty nice. Fruity. Biitter orange with chocolate taste in finish. Thin and slightly sour. It almost wants to be a foreign stout but seems held back.
