GoufCustom (2172) - HONG KONG - MAR 13, 2013
330 ml can bought at DCH Food Mart in Sheung Shui. Piss-like pale yellow colour; Razor thin head and white foam which last for about 40 seconds; Slight lacing and active carbonation; Pungent smell of malt and corn, with low wet cardboard and faint grass; Very light sweet taste of malt, rice, corn, hint of wet cardboard, and barely noticeable trace of grassy hops; Light body, watery palate; Taste is dominated by macro light sweet malt and fruitiness throughout. Hoppiness is almost undetectable and has no finish. Slightly dry after taste, very easy to mouth.
Comments: Out of curiosity, I picked this up because of the can’s cartoonish graphic art and its dirt cheap price (just around 50 US cents!) Even it’s another faceless, mediocre macro by Tsingtao, this is somewhat more bearable than the awful Tsingtao 10° I had earlier, and a bargain for those who can’t afford quality beer. What bugs me though is the fact that Chinese macros keep on churning out indistinguishable low quality stuffs under different brand names (such as this one) and differentiable literally by only a single degree Plato. Totally pointless.
