COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tsingtao Beer has a pleasant aroma and a well-balanced taste. It has high-malty flavor and well-hopped character. Tsingtao is produced with spring water from Laoshan, a mountain area famous throughout China for the purity of its water. The domestically-grown hops used to brew Tsingtao are of such high quality that they are also exported to European breweries. Tsingtao also uses the finest yeast and barley imported from Australia and Canada in its brewing process.

NOTE: Under this entry, rate ONLY exported Tsingtao that roughly matches the ABV and local Tsingtao that matches it completely. If it differs in any way and doesn’t match the other entries under the brewer, please send in a bug report with the alcohol percentage, degrees plato (important!), the GTIN and preferably a link to a picture of both the front and the back label so that we can set up an entry.

UPDATED: DEC 13, 2017 Un classique des restaurants chinois. Une pils de table qui se laisse boire, à la couleur jaune prononcée. On peut en boire par litres entiers mais elle ne laisse pas un souvenir impérissable.

hrabren (1667) - Zagreb, CROATIA - DEC 12, 2017
UPDATED: DEC 12, 2017 0.33 l bottle brought by Goran the Pilot from Dubai. I had it before, but I didn't rate. Clear pale golden, small off-white head. Hay and grainy. Crisp, cardboard. Light body, soft to moderate carbonation, light finish. Lousy.

UPDATED: DEC 7, 2017 Smells of rice pudding. Very pale. Finishes with a twang. Head dissipates quickly.

330mL cans at Dynasty Karaoke. Cold, poured into a schooner glass.
Appearance: Yellow body. White head. 2
Aroma: Hay, grass. Sweet. 4
Taste: Sweet lager malt. Crisp. No hops. 5
Palate: Thin and watery. 2
Overall: Not offensive, but it is basic. I previously had this a year ago - it was so generic that it pushed me to find craft beer. 10

330ml can. Pours pale gold. Fairly nondescript aroma but much more flavour. Lemon, quite floral, a biscuit note and a slightly tart peachy finish. Rare for me to drink a pale lager and enjoy the finish. Dare I say it's actually quite nice.

My first chance to drink a beer from China. Of course this is a common one, and a pale lager = ouch. Check.

I drank from a bottle which is actually what caught my attention in the first place. The hanzi on the glass is a nice touch. Not much for aroma. Its just a hint of, what seems like rice or hay. It is very pale, very clear. Not much to look at. Its very smooth and chilled is actually quite refreshing in Hawaii weather. That being said its not to much on taste intensity. If I were to imagine water being a beer it would be Tsingtao. Not a bad thing by the way. No burn and not too much after taste. Letting it sit and warm up did not take away from the experience other than temperature. Overall, its very average but sometimes average is good. I enjoyed it. Its something casual to drink on a hot day, or while eating hot and spicy food which is what I'm testing right now and liking it. Really good with fish by the way. German made Chinese beer.

Pale yellow colour. Foam quickly disappears. Very watery. It's easy drinkable when cooled and when it is very hot outside.
