COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tsingtao Beer has a pleasant aroma and a well-balanced taste. It has high-malty flavor and well-hopped character. Tsingtao is produced with spring water from Laoshan, a mountain area famous throughout China for the purity of its water. The domestically-grown hops used to brew Tsingtao are of such high quality that they are also exported to European breweries. Tsingtao also uses the finest yeast and barley imported from Australia and Canada in its brewing process.

NOTE: Under this entry, rate ONLY exported Tsingtao that roughly matches the ABV and local Tsingtao that matches it completely. If it differs in any way and doesnt match the other entries under the brewer, please send in a bug report with the alcohol percentage, degrees plato (important!), the GTIN and preferably a link to a picture of both the front and the back label so that we can set up an entry.

Pours a pale yellow color. Smell is skunky, damn green bottles. Taste is also somewhat skunked, some grains, mild. Overall I was unimpressed.

12 oz. bottle at Nine Dragons, Epcot. Poured clear gold with thin white head. Straw, corn, grainy. Crisp and clean. No beer I reach for more when I find myself in China.

From notes. Enjoyed at Brot & Spiele at dinner with Gary. 330 mL bottle. The pour is a very clear golden yellow color. There is no head or lace to be found with it. This looks like dehydrated piss, or maybe some apple juice. Its really interesting. The aroma is incredibly rice forward. There isnt much else. There is a light metallic malt and some wet cereal maybe. The flavor is just as light. There is almost nothing going on. Its light, ricey, and carries a little metallic with it. The mouth feel is terribly watery and hardly carbonated at all. The aftertaste is metallic rice and just jumps right off of the tongue. This isnt good.

Sampled from 0.33 l bottle from local LIDL at 4.7% abv, best before March 2017. Clear, very pale, greenish yellow with a thin, frothy, stable, white head. Sweetish, slightly grassy and a bit skunky aroma of grains, straw and some wet cardboard. Slightly sweetish, a bit grainy taste of straw, grains and light cardboard, followed by a short, minimally bitter, slightly grassy finish. Thin to medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Drinkable and bland.

Its a very skunky euro lager taste but theres something different that I cant quite put my finger on. Its watery and light, but its really not as bad as people say. Probably not something id be interested in again, but worth the try. , I like Heineken a bit better
