Tuatara need to be commended for this beer as it is one of the best I have tried. While aggressively hoppy at 167 IBU (which I would contest) it has a smooth sweetness that carries the beer. A little alcoholic on the finish, but I am nitpicking on a fine specimen of a beer. Extra points given for 3D glasses that accompany the beer.

RIch, super hazy, raw golden coloured body (think Manuka honey from NZ) with a copper glow, and a thick, three to four centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of rich alcohol and biting hops with tropical fruits, pine, resin, alcohol, yeast and some deep malts all noticeable throughout the long smells. Full-bodied; Strong rich hop bite at first from pine and tropical fruits that shows a ton of alcohol, a good deal of grain and earthier malts along with some toffee and lightly caramelised sugar sweetness throughout. Aftertaste, a good beer with a lot of hop character with a good deal of hops, but nothing too terribly amazing for the style - a good beer for sure, but nothing amazing; However, on this side of the world it is a bit unique and nice to try. Luckily even more, I was in a relative non-beer part of the world (although Taipei is quite nice!) and drinking this here without lugging it halfway around the world is even better! I sampled this 50 cL thick, studded bottle purchased from Jason’s Market Place at Taipei 101 in Taipei, Taiwan on 24-July-2017 for NT$250 sampled in my hotel room here in central Taipei, Taiwan on 26-July-2017.

Bottle 50cl. Light orange with a white head. Spicy hoppy aroma with some citrus. Dangerous easy to drink, considering the 9% alc/vol. very bitter. Nice rich body. Medium to long finish.

Pours an almost clear golden color with medium white head.Aroma has grapefruit, pine and orange peel, with grassy hops and herbal notes and a moderate malty and bready backbone. Taste follows the nose, grapefruit, citrus, floral, grass and herbs. Strong bitter aftertaste.

Bottle from The Bottle Lab, Leek. Pours a slightly hazy deep golden colour with a thin white head. Aroma of grapefruit, orange, pine, some peach, slight biscuity malts and subtle floral, grassy hops. Taste of grapefruit, orange, resin, some peach, a hint of orchard fruits, subtle biscuity malts and slight earthy, floral hops. Medium bodied and an oily texture. A long, dry and bitter, citrus and earthy hop bitterness in the finish. Citrusy and resinous with big, bitter earthy and floral hops but I find the finish too bitter with a hint of oxidation. Doesnt taste 9% though. Expected better.

A very good dipa. You don’t realise you are drinking a 9% beer. Gorgeous hop flavours and it’s in a 500ml bottle. Well worth the price tag

500 ml bottle. BB 30/08/17. Thanks Kiwi-Timo!
Clear golden color with a tiny grayish white head. Sweet fruitiness, hops, alcohol and some hop oily notes in the aroma. The flavor is strong bitterness, hops, dryness and some age.
