Pours clear copper color with a large white head. Resinous hoppy aroma, pine, orange, some malts and caramel. Flavor is very resinous and bitter hoppy, caramel malts, orange and mandarin. Quite deceptively drinkable indeed, very nice.

Bottle. Bought Aug 2017 at GBBF; BBE Aug 2017; Drank early-Sept 2017 - Lightly hazed amber gold in colour. Good foamy off-white head. Good lacing. Very hoppy; heavy hop bitterness, piney resinous hops. Very fruity; grapefruit and lemon citrus, peach. Spicy. Malty; toasty malts, caramel/toffee. Bitter assertively hoppy citrus fruity throughout. Enjoyed this. Good punchy hoppy DIPA. Probably would be even better if fresh. (2017-09) MelvinKalksma (1764) - NETHERLANDS - AUG 29, 2017

Medium aroma of malts, caramel, orange, tropical fruit, pine, hops and citrus.
Clear/hazy golden/amber beer with a slight off-white/beige head.
Starts medium/heavy sweet with malts, caramel, orange, tropical fruit and pine; ends slightly bitter and dry with hops and citrus.
This beer is intense, complex and balanced. Lovely amount of fruit and pine flavours. Shame it is filtered so excessively. The aroma could have been stronger as well. The taste and palate are both great however and these matter most anyways. Beerhunter111 (22966) - P´Castle, GERMANY - AUG 10, 2017

UPDATED: JUL 29, 2017 Double IPA with loads of hopiness and a yeasty tang that is different but not unpleasant. The gold standard of double ipas that you return to after trying another excellent double ipa to remind you of what that type should taste like. This beer has been around for a long time and is still almost peerless. jgb9348 (6515) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - JUL 26, 2017
RIch, super hazy, raw golden coloured body (think Manuka honey from NZ) with a copper glow, and a thick, three to four centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of rich alcohol and biting hops with tropical fruits, pine, resin, alcohol, yeast and some deep malts all noticeable throughout the long smells. Full-bodied; Strong rich hop bite at first from pine and tropical fruits that shows a ton of alcohol, a good deal of grain and earthier malts along with some toffee and lightly caramelised sugar sweetness throughout. Aftertaste, a good beer with a lot of hop character with a good deal of hops, but nothing too terribly amazing for the style - a good beer for sure, but nothing amazing; However, on this side of the world it is a bit unique and nice to try. Luckily even more, I was in a relative non-beer part of the world (although Taipei is quite nice!) and drinking this here without lugging it halfway around the world is even better! I sampled this 50 cL thick, studded bottle purchased from Jason’s Market Place at Taipei 101 in Taipei, Taiwan on 24-July-2017 for NT$250 sampled in my hotel room here in central Taipei, Taiwan on 26-July-2017.
