Draught at The Malthouse, Wellington. Cloudy golden, small head. Aroma of bubblegum and banana. Malty with restricted sweetness. It’s very soft and drinkable, and the esters are strong, but not overpowering. An excellently balanced session beer! GarrettGotu (9) - - JAN 7, 2016 does not count
My favourite beer so far, this is the one that got me into craft beers, haven’t really found a wheat beer close this, smells like fruit / bubblegum, gentle really subtle clove with vanilla and banana flavours, need to tip the bottle a few times to mix up the sediment, cloudy in appearance, easy as all hell to drink. Only reason I’m not going 10 out of 10 is due to me being an amateur at this stuff :)
If you ever get the chance to try this please do so, its AMAZING. HenWrist (4) - , NEW ZEALAND - MAY 3, 2009 does not count
A wonderful drop. Poured from the taps at Regionals. Instantly hit with the beautiful fragrance. With my nose sitting 20cm above the glass there is nothing but the smell of sweet bananas and bubble gum wafting upwards. Lovely bright colour with a slight cloud. Taste wasn’t as intense as i thought it would be but still top notch. CalumScotland (182) - Hamilton, SCOTLAND - JUN 15, 2015

Cloudy, thin yellow appearence. Nice banana/bubble gum aroma! Light bodied, relatively crisp and clean, with a banana yeast flavour that is not overpowering. My only complaint is the weak head.

UPDATED: FEB 20, 2006 Tasted 13/03/2005. Cloudy golden appearance with big soft pure white head that fades slightly quicker than I’d have liked. Huge banana bouquet with a very slight sulphur hint in the beginning that disappears completely after a few sniffs. Banana and wheat flavour with just the slightest citrus note. Soft, yet spritzy, mouthfeel. A good authentic German Weiss interpretation.
Retasted 20/01/2006. Longer lasting head; rounder spicier aroma with some bubblegum and without that sulphur note; good sweetness up front and super clean tartness through the middle. One of NZ’s best wheat beers without a doubt. kempicus (343) - Bakewell, Derbyshire, ENGLAND - SEP 19, 2008
Had on tap at the malthouse. Pours a light gold, could do with being a bit cloudier....but that’s just me. Sweet banana nose and light on the palate (i like that) It’s a interesting beer, sweet yet dry refreshing and not cloying crisp not sickly....a really enjoyable drink. Bottle, cloudy with all that yeastie goodness, a very pale yellow with a large pillowy white head. Not so much banana on the nose, but plenty of cloves, and a touch peppery as well. Quite carbonated, a good cleansing palate. The flavours are quite understated, which I like if my weizen beers, which can sometimes be a bit sweet. Just a touch of malt and yeast. This is damn good. deusax (459) - Grenoble, FRANCE - FEB 16, 2012
Pretty good try for a German Hefe copy! A bit too sweet though, and the palate is not as soft as german Hefe. Still really pleasant to drink, with a strong wheat taste. Pyobon (1392) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - FEB 15, 2014
Cloudy amber with slight white head. Great aroma - orangey citrus and banana esters. Medium body with lively refreshing carbonation. Fruity start to taste with some citrus and banana notes. Pleasant hoppy bitterness develops through the mid palate into a tasty finish. Great refreshing and tasty hefe.
