Black with a pretty bog standard tan head, aroma of tobacco, chocolate and dates. Not too complex but ticks a few boxes. Perhaps the body is a wee bit on the light side for me, but I guess its pretty on par for a porter. The flavour follows a similar line to the aroma, showing a good blend of dried fruit and chocolate, with some subtle candy sweetness. Quick finish without any residual bitterness or sweetness. A good sessionable porter.

5%ABV. Porter. Poured out dark brown. 38SRM. Nose is yeasty, very much so. Light smoke. Mouthfeel is light. Palate is multigrain bread, barley bread, wheat toast. Hops are woody and noble. Finish is hoppier than a usual porter.

Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a long duration, sour fruit, dark roasted, chocolate. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20150217]

330 ml bottle. BB 11/04/17. Thanks Timo A!
Dark reddish brown color with a small grayish tan head. Roasted malt, chocolate, some cherry notes (?) and some dryness in the aroma. The flavor is news paper, roasted malt, some ashy dryness and chocolate.

UPDATED: OCT 26, 2016 330ml bottle. Pours dark. Aroma is chocolate milk. Taste is a little bitter, some chocolate and some prunes. Quite refreshing, and really quite nice. A nice simple porter.

Average head and body, brown-black in colour. Aroma of swampy barley but not too swampy, but still swampy. Flavour is roasted barley with hints of coffee, but the finish is watery. I like my porters in your face and this is demure at best.

Porters for me are a time and a place beer. It is not a summer beer nor a beer I can drink all night. Also If I can get Fullers London Porter then everything else is an also ran. This however is not bad. I had this in a tiny pub in Taipei near Le-li road down a back street. The body is quite light for a Porter. Nose is coffee, milk chocolate and maybe burnt toast. More carbonation than I expected and a little drier. But that said it had some good crisp dark flavours...such as chocolate and malt. Finish was dry and clean. Very good beer.

Bottle. Black with a lovely chocolate like flavour. Hops in background make it feel like a dark IPA rather than an IPA. Nevertheless this is an excellent beer and easily the best I have tried so far from this brewery.

Its not what youd call full bodied, but there is a vast array of aromas, and quite the thing of flavours in this, and it ends up being very drinkable. I got a milky chocolate aroma on opening, then I got smoky bitterness and some tartness, the taste was lightly bitter, some fruit thing not a big finish but I did drink it double quick. Nice really.
