3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
I got this in Kyrgyzstan, so I think it’s the Russian version. I poured it into a plastic cup (the only cup available). It smells strongly of burnt and roasted malt. It is black colored with one finger of tan head. The head lasted only seconds though. The taste was lots of roasted malt and sweet. Simple but good. Smooth and crisp feeling. No gimmicks, just a nice black beer.
How: Bottle Appearance: black, small tan head. Aroma: some mild caramel, bread Palate :thin body, high carbonation. Zarkam (539) - Helsinki, FINLAND - NOV 9, 2014
500ml bottle from a Supermarket in Vyborg, enjoyed from a small glass in st. Petersburg. Very dark brown colour, small fizzy beige mostly vanishing head. Moderately malty aroma of toast and caramel with a hint of floral hops. Taste is initally sweetish with a hint of sourness, turning into a mildly bittersweet finish. Medium body, slick texture, lively carbonation. Dark lager that is barely different from a bulk light one, could’ve just been imagining the difference because of the colour. This is the same as Saku On Ice Black - disappointment. Yes, it is a fun experiment, and the public goes wild, but when it comes to beer- this is rather simple. Not a bad experiment, but not my fav. Caytinator (1005) - Waco, Texas, USA - NOV 7, 2013
0.5L Bottle. The description is a joke, I don’t know what the hell they were thinking of when they wrote it, but it isn’t even close. Pours a mahogany color, with a little lacing. Light sour aroma, unimpressive. Taste - not the complex malty character I wanted, kind of falls flat. Tastes like regular swill that’s got just a tinge more to it. It could be worse. vinivini (2998) - Gomel, BELARUS - OCT 23, 2013
An anti-beer to me. No aroma, traces of bread & caramel. Tastes like pipe water. The palate is light in the third degree. Never again. Horrible.

Bought in a supermarket in Kazakhtan. A Carlsberg Kazakhstan beer. I don’t know what this drink is trying to be but whatever it’s trying to be it hasn’t done a very good job. A rather odd drink and not very nice. Too fizzy for a dark beer. Looks like cola. kiwianer (3428) - Otorohanga, NEW ZEALAND - JUN 4, 2012
It tastes sweet, a little bit aromatic, a bit roasty, sweet and watery 8/7/6/7/8/7 JoeMcPhee (9549) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 2, 2011
Dark black pour with a thin tan head. The aroma has a little bit if roast and a fairly thin malt base. Meh - it’s incredibly thin tasting with really nothing in it. It’s kind of a miracle that something with his much pigment can have this little flavour. There is really almost nothing here, other than the colour.

The beer is basically black. The aroma - it’s like taking a chemical bath. I’d been avoiding this one since St. Petersburg and probably should have kept avoiding it. Taste is actually like nothing. Watery and quick. One of the sorriest black beers I’ve ever had.
