Bottle. Amber color with white head. Malty and spicy sweetness. Short finish. yespr (45412) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - DEC 27, 2006
33 cL bottle. Pours golden brown with a short lasting but somewhat creamy head. Has clear barley malt aroma. Taste is mainly barley malt with some sweetness and liquorice appears deeply hidden once the beer gets warmer. Short aftertaste. Ungstrup (37558) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - NOV 13, 2002
An amber beer with no head. The aroma is very faintly sweet. But the flavor is a lot better: it has a nice sweetness of a nice malt blend (caremel malt) with a little bitterness that lingers. A very nice beer for consumption in the time before christmas. As the years have passed I like it less and less. 10 years ago I loved it for the sweetness but now I don’t like too sweet beers and therefore is turning away from this beer. But it’s still a really good beer. joergen (28102) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - NOV 6, 2004
Golden beer with a smalll fast disappearing head. Malty aroma with notes of alcohol and spices.
Disappointing flavor dominated by hops with notes of alcohol. Very drinkable, but nothing special. anders37 (26605) - Malmö, SWEDEN - DEC 27, 2007
Bottle. Pours a clear dark golden color with a longlasting off-white head. Sweetish malty caramel aroma. Sweet malty caramel flavor with some bready hints. Sweet malty finish with a slightly bitter aftertaste.

Canned. Copperish amber colour, cramy mediumsized white head. Caramellish malty aroma. Sweetish malty dry flavour
with hops kicking in finish (says licorace on can, maybe that’s the dry sourish thing, which reminds of hops). Dry palate too. Also some hints of barley in the flavour. omhper (25095) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - FEB 27, 2002
Pale brown with a beatiful head. Looks nice, but tastes - nothing! Sweet water with a little caramell. Just plain awful. Papsoe (25063) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JUN 9, 2005
(Bottle 33 cl) Read some statistics last Christmas: I believe this beer has about 60-70% of the Danish market for Christmas beers. And nothing could be more unjustified. Lovely, dark amber colour with a fine creamy head. Very watery with a hint of caramel-malt and an idea of some hops. You don’t taste the added licorice. Extremely disappointing and very anonymous. If you have the choice, always grab a Carlsberg 47 instead of this crap. 081299 madmitch76 (24789) - , Essex, ENGLAND - DEC 31, 2010

Bottle in Spoons as ’Tuborg Christmas Brew’. Clear brown beer. Light crisp palate. A lot of uninteresting malt. A trace of hop. The Danes can do bland as well as the Brits!
Bottle in Bulgaria. Pours clear, light amber with a fluffy, white head. Grainy malt aroma with some faint alcohol. Flavor has some nice heft but is still a bit dull: cereal malts and light sugar. Light to medium in body with average carbonation. A touch warming to finish, more malts and only mild hints of bitterness. Not at all offensive. Good enough.
