50cl bottle. Bbe 15.03.2018. Poured clear mahogany color with a thin white head. Bready malty aroma, molasses, caramel. Toasty, caramelly malty flavor, bready as well. Sweetness in finish but nice balance. body could be fuller but overall a nice doppelbock.

50 cl bottle @ home. BBE 15.03.2018.
Pours clear amber color with a large head. Aroma is quite bready and malty, some faint earthy notes, hints of spices, yeast and some caramel. Flavor is also dry bready, toasted malty, sweet with caramel, some grainy notes in there too. Nice malty body, maybe a bit too grainy dry for my taste but very nice still.

Produces a glowing, dark brown colored beer, with a huge, creamy beige head. Smells of molasses and caramel malts, very sweet with a spicy licorice note, toned down by a tart whiff. A light earth profile builds the rustic foundation in this, on which the sweet malt profile settles atop. This drinks great. Amazingly soft on the tongue, the mouthfeel is defined by a well accentuated, vivid carbonation, which prevents the beer from becoming too sweet by lending a mineralic note to the flavors. The taste mirrors the nose - it is full of glazed caramel and toffee malts, sweet and fulfilling, balanced by a note of earth and grains. This first impression changes entirely, once the beer’s hop profile becomes recognizable. It packs a dryness, which is reminiscent of bitter, earthen cold brew coffee, with a good amount of dried herbs in this case. Finishes with an reinvigorated toffee sweetness and a mineralic aftermath from the prominent hops, very clean and explosive on the tongue. This is like an unforseen rollercoaster ride, with a pungent dryness, adding to the malty, sweet foundation of the beer, which results in a well composed, complex and very enjoyable Doppelbock.

TeijoA (67) - Turku, FINLAND - FEB 10, 2017
Clear, very dark red colour with a nice thick head with quite good retention, very pretty. Very malty, bready aroma, even some ham. Some chocolate in the background, also very fresh, some grassiness. Really big aromas, should have had this with the dinner ham casserole. Flavour along the same lines, even more breadiness with a full body and medium carbonation. Nice.

TEJA (3067) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - FEB 10, 2017
Fine light brown head that quickly disappears. Almost clear dark amber color. A distinct sweet malty aroma. The sweetness also big int the taste but also a good bitterness to try to balance the sweetness.

TET (3034) - Kaarina, FINLAND - FEB 5, 2017
A dark reddish brown, a head is medium and beige. Aroma has bread, some sweetness of syrup, dried fruitness with raisin and prune, chocolate. Taste has dried fruits, raisins and prunes, richness of malts, bread, quite strong sweetness, some chocolate. Almost full bodied, smooth and nice palate. Great beer. Strong ried fruitness. I like this beer.

(Bottle, 0.5 l - BB 15.03.2018, from Alko, 20170201) The beer poured dark brown and clear. Its head was medium sized and nearly white. Aroma had metal, malts, caramel and molasses. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, caramel, molasses, grass and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet, malty and bitter. A rather nice bock. The aroma had unpleasant metal notes.

ThreeCats (900) - ISRAEL - DEC 27, 2016
Nice clear mahogany with a big tan head. Aroma of chocolate and wood, caramel and notes of vanilla or possibly banana. Taste full and sweet. Plenty of caramel and some chocolate notes, a little too full bodied to be truly drinkable, but an enjoyable sipper.

WhatDaddy (94) - Volos, GREECE - NOV 8, 2016
0,5lt bottle @ Valentin - Curious Bierkneipe, Volos Greece Hints of caramel, roasty aroma. Body is medium with low carbonation, it lacks in intensity, flavor, balance. Alcohol hidden. You get some malty roasty sweetness but the palate is not there. I’ll re-rate this if this bottle was just not perfect.
