UPDATED: AUG 27, 2007 This beer came to me in my beer club - I have never heard of the brewer before. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark brown color with a large tan head. The aroma is somewhat faint but has elements of roasted malts, molasses and fruity hops. The flavor is quite bitter with floral hops and only a hint of roasty malts. What malts there are combine with a molasses element and finishes long on the tongue. HumuloneRed (751) - Portland, Oregon, USA - AUG 1, 2006
Another beer from of the beer of the month club. 12 oz. Bottle. Pours a murky light red with a creamy white head and lacing. Nice malt nose with a bit of earthiness. Balance malt flavor with a nice hop bite in the finish. Slightly watery body but still a nice beer. muzzlehatch (4959) - Beloit, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 23, 2006
Vermont Brewer’s Fest 2006, draught sample. Light fairly clear amber-brown with a touch of head.....the aroma is pleasantly nutty, a hint of honey, some woody-vanilla hints, but a bit of dark oiliness as it warms doesn’t help....the body is husky, dry and of little character, nutty hints are barely evident and there’s just not a lot of malt, and no hops to speak of....just no "there" there if you know what I mean; I have trouble describing anything else so I’ll just leave it at: dull. Very nice malt character with a firm hop bite on the end. I love these types of beers that have strong malt character and a strong hop character. Very drinkable as well. Cappadonna (110) - Delray Beach, Florida, USA - JUL 18, 2006
A very average brown ale. Pours brown with a foamy white head. Has aroma of malt, nuts and some sour notes. Flavor grew on me- definitely don’t serve to cold.

UPDATED: JUL 13, 2006 Re-rate: After a few of these, I am beginning to see the better points. Nutty-Bready aroma. Rich copper color. Pours nicely into a glass with nice foamy tan head. Nice carbonation - tiny little bubbles rising. Flavor is very smmoth and drinkable. I will buy this one again! SledgeJr (3577) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - JUN 26, 2006
In the bottle. This was a June 2006 Beer-of-the-month club selection. Thanks to p-man for the beer. A hazy, light brown/dark amber beer. Roasted german lager aroma with a bit of the dough-like smell. medium flavor profile, has a roasted malty taste, but not much of either. I’m not sure what the slight vegetable off flavor is, but it is only faint. The thin body makes for a whimpering finish. thornecb (5920) - Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA - JUN 24, 2006
Pours dark brown into a shaker. Creamy micro head with good retention. Deep caramel malt and pine hop aromas. Slightly fizzy with upfront dry caramel with a sour, bitter hop finish. ph0tik (92) - Denver, Colorado, USA - JUN 22, 2006
From a bottle poured a copper/brown with a nice head. Nice bitterness to end, not particularly nutty. Nothing special.
As a side note, if you get the 12 oz bottle it has one of the worst indistinguishable labels I have ever seen. Use better art please! wilkie (1208) - Raleigh, North Carolina, USA - JUN 21, 2006
Bottle. Brown, red appearance. Medium off-white head. Mild caramel malt in aroma. Flavor similar, light roastiness in finish. Could use a little more umph.
