[email protected] Deep amber colour, small head. Aroma is wood, yeast, malts, caramel, earthcellar as well as some mild spicy and herbal notes. Flavour is quite much the same. Ends in a rather dry palate.

Cask at GBBF. Clear dark brown beer. Softish palate. Sourish malt with an odd spicy tone. Finishes dry. A bit odd.

Bottle shared in London - sourced from somewhere in the northeast. Pours clear reddish brown with a creamy, white head. The nose has some leafy hops, lightly toasted grains. Light sweet flavour with more lightly toasted grains, just a faint suggestion of tang, some dried berries, low bitterness. Light to medium bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. OK finish, more of the same, some leaves and dry, lightly toasted grainy bread, vague citrus notes. So so overall.

At GBBF 2009. Very dark brown with thin beige head. Slightly sour, pretty good alt style beer, soft on the finish. Really quite good, nice.

[email protected] 2009. Dark nut brown color, not much head. Light caramel and perhaps some tartness in the nose. Watery palate. Some hard caramel, woody malts and light grassy hops in the aftertaste. Also notes of dark chocolate. Very American version of altbier.

Bottle. Mildly fruity and roasted aroma, OK combination. Hazy dark brown colour. Small stable light brown head. The flavour is roasted and tart. A bit too tart, perhaps.
