An eggy fart, vegetal waft follows up once the cap is released. In the glass the nose bares just a hint of sweet, white bread and honey. Appearance wise it could cut the mustard as a soda-pop with big clingy bubbles and a translucent dull gold body. No head, just a few residual suds. Husky, cardboard dominated palate. Gassy, harshly crisp and dry finish. Musty, stale hops. No length. Sweet, artificial front. Featherweight in body. Low, to no bitterness. Boring, bland and gassy is the only impressions of this one. Ins Glas ergießt sich ein goldgelbes Bier mit geringer Schaumkrone. Geruch leicht malzig, getreidig, leicht süß. Geschmack wässrig, leicht malzig getreidig, minimal herb. skortila (5987) - Baarn, NETHERLANDS - JAN 23, 2014
On tap. New Zealand holiday 2011-12. Old notes. First beer I had in NZ. with some nachos relative close to our hotel on our way to Pomeroy. The aroma was grainy. Clear golden coloured beer with a thin white head. The taste is sweetish and grainy, bland. kiwianer (3428) - Otorohanga, NEW ZEALAND - NOV 16, 2013
My one has 4%. Head medium, body blond. It smells malty, sweet. The taste is malty, sweet, watery. BlackHaddock (7690) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - AUG 17, 2013
1st Beer of a ’Random Beer Evening’.
330ml brown bottle, badged ’Blond Lager’: 3 months out of date when poured into a Duvel glass on 17 Aug 2013.
Looked fine: clear and clean, deep golden body with a full white crown of bubbles on top.
Aroma of wet cardboard with a metallic clunk to it: some sweetness too.
Grainy taste, with added sugar, not nice at all. Tried to get into it, but failed: had to open a packet of crisps to help me finish the glass off.
Worst beer I’ve had from New Zealand: not that I’ve had many.

Bottle. Dark gold ale with a crisp white top. Nose smells like confectionary - sherbert. And those flying saucer sweets. In the mouth, it’s quite light. A dusting of marzipan sugar and a little cereal maize. Pleasant and light. Travlr (26091) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - AUG 1, 2013
Draft at the Iguana in Hamilton. Clear yellow color, fluffy white head. Aroma of white peper and straw. Taste is lemon, scant peppery bitterness. Plain. SarkyNorthener (4847) - West Bromwich (Yorkshire Expat), West Midlands, ENGLAND - JUL 29, 2013
Bottle. Dark golden beer with small head. Aroma of caramel. Taste is caramel malts, grain and sweetish. A little too watery on the palate. Not what I was expecting, I quite enjoyed this one. Good for a lager. Rob_D_UK (1366) - Madrid, SPAIN - MAY 15, 2013
A pale golden beer with a lazing off-white head. The aroma has notes of straw, citrus and a bit of malt - though a bit boring. The flavor is sweet with notes of citrus, malt, metal, and a bit of cardboard, leading to a dry cardboardy finish 5000 (6862) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - MAY 3, 2013
Bottle:   Golden in color, clear, large sudsy white head, spotty lacing.   Musty straw and old apples on the nose.   Grassy on the tongue, some hay and straw, somewhat sweet.   Very clean and crisp.   Not too
much otherwise, but its clean and has a nice sweetness with the straw/hay aspect.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Clean finish, soft grassiness and old apples linger.   Better than I expected.   Thanks Bob for
