Dark orange-gold; small white rim. Walnuts, cognac, old Bourbon casks, sweet almondcake aroma’s. Dried apricots, overripe fruit, sweet but nowhere cloying, extremely complex taste, with whisky barrels, peppery & sweet in the finish, even Szechuan pepper. Warming up, dark raisins, very " ’t Anker"-like. Very alcoholic, and very slick: obviously really quite thick, but feeling thinner. Excellent, superbly complex, and yet well-balanced beer. One of the best Scottish ever had. BIG thanks to Craig for this gem! DJMonarch (9179) - Northwich, Cheshire, ENGLAND - MAY 20, 2011

Hoppy and slightly oaked aroma. Some carbonation. Golden coloured very smooth on the palate and creamy with a hint of dryness and bitterness in a woody and whisky flavoured finish. johndoughty (5504) - cheslyn hay, West Midlands, ENGLAND - DEC 21, 2009
Bottle. Yellow and poured with a small head leaving no lacing. Medium body with a slight spirit like sharpness. Some maltiness as well.Don’t usually think too highly of beers with a scotch element to them but this is one of the better ones.In fact its a pretty decent beer. apeirohedron (1) - AUSTRALIA - JUL 10, 2012 does not count
Scored a couple of bottles at a whisky fair. Hardly any smell or head, but delicate and complex taste. Tastes more like beer than like whisky, unlike many other "whisky beers". Grzesiek79 (4359) - Radom, POLAND - JUN 3, 2014
Dobre piwo o posmaku whisky. Lekko czuc ten aromat a takze w smaku dominuja te wrazenia, troche torfu oraz wedzonego posmaku. Slodowosc dosc mocna. Piwo jest koloru jasnego z niewielka piana. Ale swietne wyglada za to etykieta nawiazujaca do whisky Single Malt.

Fwoahr. I really like this. However, it doesn’t have much in the looks department - a clear , light amber body with pretty much nonexisting head. Then again it would just distract from the fantastically complex aroma of burnt caramel, citrus peel, wet wood and a hint of smokiness.
To me the flavour wasn’t really like whiskey although I do follow that idea. I’m getting oak, orange peel (again) and an exceptionally smoky aftertaste, that I don’t think I’ve ever experienced before. Abit more fullbodied and this would have been a real winner. hughie (3996) - Bedford, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - JUN 1, 2008
At May Ratebeer London Gathering at Chris O’s. Gold with a small white head. Malty alcoholic aroma. Sweetness blends with sourness in the taste along with the tang of alcohol. A little bitterness. Very nice, despite the fact it’s Scotch, not Scotttish. GBZ59 (1217) - BARCELONA (Catalonia), SPAIN - APR 9, 2011
Saboreada el 2 Mar/11 en copa Snifter. Color dorado, espuma blanca, tupida y persistente. Aromas de trigo y sutiles notas de madera en nariz. Dulce en boca. Refrescante. Matices de whisky, madera y frutos secos muy bien equilibrados. Sensación fresca. Bebible.Enjoyed on 3/2/11 in an Snifter glass.Golden color, white dense & lasting foam. Wheat aromas & subtle woody notes in nose. Felt sweet in mouth. Refreshing. Hints of whisky, wood & nut flavors in a very well balanced way. Crispy sensation. Drinkable. Same bottle as benzai mentioned.
Deep orange colour, clear, no head. Smells very sweet, wood notes and alcohol. Tastes sweet, caramel, hardly any whisky, wood. Sticky mouthfeel, medium body, great co2.

This is a fun beer. The head lingers for a few pulls. The whisky comes through nice on the flavour. Very smooth finish. The mouth feel on the finish is almost alkaline in nature. Cleanses the palate. Great whisky aroma. I don’t mind that it’s not a traditional scotch ale. I’m not a fan of the huge malts, this is gentle and accessible. Something you’d enjoy as a digestif, except it’s a beer! Brilliant!
