Bottled. A nut-brown beer with a tan head. The aroma has notes of malt and caramel, combined with a light note of butter. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, malt, and nuts as well as some butter, leading to a dry buttery finish. cgarvieuk (25987) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - DEC 20, 2007

Bottled. Dark amber coloured. Unclear. Small off white head. Aroma of spice, fruits, smoke. Flavour of smoke, caramel, spice, fruits. Medium bodied. Dry smoky end. DuffMan (10667) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 31, 2009
This poured a dark brown with a short-lived tan head. Sweet dark toffee aroma with some fruity/boozy notes buzzing around in the background. Palate is much the same, not a lot of complexity but approachable and tasty. I don’t get much in the way of peatiness or barrel-aged character, but then again I’m not sure if I’m meant to. Finish is moderately sweet and mildly bitter. This wasn’t bad, but there are much better Scottish brews to be found here in Alberta that I’d put my money into. dwyerpg (6410) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - JUL 23, 2009
A malty, somewhat soapy aroma. The flavor is much better than the aroma. A bit too malty, relatively thick, this is a decent scotch. reebtogi (6385) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - FEB 28, 2012
500ml bottle pours amber in color with a small off-white head that leaves some thin lacing on the glass. Aroma is light toasted malts with some wood and smokiness and floral hops. Taste is malty sweet with some hints of whiskey and oak and a mild hoppy bitterness. Medium body and modest carbonation leave a nice tickle on the tongue. A nicely done ESB style beer and recommended for a tasting.
